Eisert - 11.28 K/9 - 2.39 BB/9 - 3.01 xFIP

Hernandez - 12.60 K/9 - 3.16 BB/9 - 3.03 xFIP

 

Although I guess they brought Shaun Anderson up to the taxi squad lol

 

Can’t have 2 Hernandez on the active roster

Probably to piggyback a starter, etc... than he starts the DH next week against the Rays.

Random thought but I would honestly be pretty devastated if they trade kirk. I don’t care if his body falls apart, please don’t trade the little fat guy that can hit. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed watching a baseball player as much as him.

I kind of think judge ends up on the Mets but yea he isn’t being traded in a million years.

 

Same. Cohen will wet himself being able to poach the Yankees best player this offseason.

If there’s a catcher on the block, it’s probably not Kirk. Can never say for sure, but…taking advantage of his young fat years when it won’t be as big of a problem and then either trading him when he’s 28 or 29 before he rolls into free agency would be fine.

I think there's a good chance Judge leaves as a FA, but yeah, the Yankees aren't trading him. If they win a World Series and Judge goes elsewhere for way more money, then I think they'll be fine with that, so they are going to go for it all this year. The star player who will be interesting to watch is Ohtani. He's a FA after the 2023 season. If the Angels fall out of by next month (a good possibility since it's the Angels), then they have a real decision to make. Trading him mid season will probably hurt attendance big time for the last 2 months, and they still have next season to take a chance at contending with him, so my guess is they'll keep him at least until trade deadline 2023, but he's a logical guy to move for them from a baseball standpoint (business standpoint might be different). That Rendon contract is hurting them badly.

Yeah Ohtani is super interesting and is a piece that good vault the Jays from good to great. Of course, he could do that for a lot of teams.

Ooohh never thought of that!! They will pay Judge whatever he wants. I agree with everyone else that the Yankees wont trade him, but with the season he is having, you know his price is only going up from a price the Yanks weren't willing to pay.

Jays lead the league in catcher fWAR (3.6) and wRC+ (139)

 

Teams that are playoff contenders who have s***** catcher fWAR

 

30th - Houston (-0.9)

25th - St. Louis (-0.3)

24th - Tampa (-0.2)

23rd - NY Mets (0.0)

20th - Cleveland (0.0)

 

I don't see the Jays trading Moreno or Kirk, but if you take Jansen and package him up with Groshans (blocked) and a decent lower minors pitching prospect (Chad Dallas level) you should be able to snag a pretty decent MLB arm from one of these teams if they have a surplus.

I'd much rather see DJ go to the NL, but if Houston is offering the best return....
