Springer is on pace to dh about 35-40 games this season. Looks like they are sticking to a plan and Montoyo has to go along.

Looks like it. Too bad the 4th/5th OF spots are hot dog doo doo. Send Zimmer to the moon and get Biggio in there!

It’s confusing because you figure he’d play the field today after the offday, then maybe DH Sunday or something.

Idk what their plan with him is exactly.

They probably have a max number of games they want him to play the outfield (looks like around 125) to minimize chance of injury and they're going to stick to it.

Does Zimmer have options? How in the f*** is Zimmer still with the big club? LHH Nathan Lukes had a good spring and is continuing in AAA with the ability to play CF, he has something like 13 doubles already.

WTF is Shatkins thinking exactly?

Zimmer is breaking out. He won the game for us last night on his own.

Basically, he has won more games for Toronto than most other hitters now.

Let's be fair to Zimmer, he's not been good in very limited playing time so far, 43 at bats. But his bat historically is a 80-90 wRC+ bat. In other words, considering his defense, offense, and speed he can be reasonably compared to Kevin Pillar.

And Pillar was about as ideal a 4th OF as it gets.

So the Yankees play all their Baltimore games pre Adley while the Blue Jays get the opposite. Hilarious

There is no logical reason for the Yankees to play a division rival 10x before another team in the division plays them once. Are the schedule makers really that stupid or do they just want to piss people off intentionally?

25% of the season in the books and Yanks are rolling no sign of stopping for Division title.

Nestor nasty and DJL just hit a slam to short right porch.

Keuchel looks a lot like Ryu these days. We just have to keep grinding away hoping offense wakes up, and put up W's.

Gotta love those 325 ft routine flyball outs for a grand slam

MLB shouldn't allow these gimmicky park anomalies.

Having said that, the Yanks RHH approach to nailing that advantage has been great and we need to do more of same.

Get a good pitch mid to outer half, put a good swing on it getting it in the air and we can score those cheap runs too. They all count. Instead we roll over...and over.

100% agreed

Damn sucks Zimmer can't play LF, would've actually liked to see him over Tapia in LF today after yesterday.

Line up:

Springer

Bo

Vlad

Teo

Espy

Kirk

Chapman

Gurriel

Tapia

I don't think the Jays should be altering their approach to try to hit 300' fly balls to right field.

I mean… he definitely CAN play LF.

But they also could have done Springer RF, Teo LF, Zimmer CF.

Some high praise from Hunter Greene re: Jays fans and the city of Toronto:

"To see it up close, to walk through the city, I just love the culture and the architecture … The atmosphere here is amazing. You could just feel the whole stadium was locked in every pitch."
