I don't have preferred pronouns at all, I don't care. But I do what I can to respect those who have a preference and use theirs. Doesn't cost me anything to not be a dick to someone.

I'm not learning 30 different pronouns, but if someone picks one of the two then I will gladly respect them and call them what they choose.

Raimel Tilapia’s arm identifies as a women’s softball player. I have zero problem using feminine pronouns when referring to that pathetic excuse of an arm.

Kay recalled

Heineman added to roster

Jansen to the 10 day for left oblique strain

Saucedo optioned

Palacios DFA'd

legit surprised and a bit sad to see Palacios DFA'd, hopefully he sticks around but he seems like the type of player Oakland would pick up

His throws to home plate are most definitely a part of the LGBT community. (Because they are rainbows.)

Not sure who Kay has pictures of but they have promoted him after a sterling opening game performance of:

one GS in AAA to begin the campaign, lasting 2.1 innings while allowing five hits, three earned runs, and four walks.

Dump this bum and give me AJ Cole back. Or roll the dice on any still out there FA (Except Dolis, Chatwood and Axford LOL).

Or promote Vasquez, Hatch, Biagini or Allgeyer.

Kay is a solid prospect except that he is fat and out of shape, has the attention span of a child, can't repeat his delivery and has no game sense or intensity.

If he wasn't traded for by management he would be LONG gone.

Thanks to the world class meltdown on last night's game thread I can't comment there so I'll just move it here I guess. Alec Manoah looks to be moving to another level as even when his command is off he totally shuts down the opposition. Having a 96 MPH heater to go with a newfound plus changeup adds to his already superb two seamer and slider combination. If he can iron out the command issues this guy is an ace in the making.

Unsurprisingly it was yet another garbage umpiring "performance", you just gotta hope that the continuous barrage of terribly called games is just speeding up the implementation of the electronic strike zone. It has to be very frustrating for batter's not to know on a pitch to pitch basis how the strike zone is going to be applied.

I am very encouraged by the defence the team showed in this game. Bo just continues to get better and better, the calls to move him off of short stop should be coming to a close soon.

I think Alek Monoah's fastball variations give hitters fits.

We often see:

- A hard sinker running in on RHH. Sometimes they swing at this pitch even though it's like 8 inches inside.

- A modern rising 4 seamer near the top of the zone. Often also kind of in on RHH.

- A 4 seamer away from RHH that might even have a little cut to it.

The statcast visuals after just one start display this pretty well. Top image is the 4 seamer and bottom is the sinker.

Anyone else cringe at the way Bo is throwing balls?

Guess the time with Tulowitzki really paying off (not really)

Made some great plays last night tho

The difference defensively between Bo to start last season vs Bo to start this season is like night and day different. Bo still struggles with his mechanics occasionally on routine plays but that should continue to improve over time.

They look like they have no chance in hell of being on target, but so far they've been on target, even for the most ridiculous plays.

He's looked phenomenal defensively this season so far (with the glaring caveat of the tiniest of sample sizes...)

Wow Anthony Kay just got ROASTED

If he spent just 1/4th of the time he spends playing Video Games in the gym. He would probably not only be in better shape. But able to stick in the Big Leagues. He looks like a giant slob that never leaves his bedroom.

Alek Manoah's last 5 starts are at an elite level from both statcast and traditional numbers, like video game s***.

He’s a mother f***ing Ace spanks. He’s got throat f***ing stuff.

I know he had 4 walks last night. But 3 of them came in one inning. He could have easily fallen apart but he rebounded and actually finished the game looking stronger. If it wasn’t his first start of the season he probably comes out for the 7th at 89 pitches.

Manoah is just steady and solid. There were a couple of people who threw him out there as a possible Cy Young candidate this year, and I think he's gonna be right up there.

It was 1 game, folks. Easy now.

lol... this coming from a guy who posts about his fantasy players religiously on here.

If "it's only one game" applies to Berrios and his game 1 struggles, same applies to Manoah and his good game last night.

It’s a carry over from what we saw last year. Definitely was a guy you could see taking the next step. Honestly the whole staff has something to prove. I mean that differently than Junior. I just don’t think any of them deserve an iron clad number by their name

I’ll go on record now as saying I think Kooch ends up being a Matz replacement. Similar value

As Spanky previously mentioned Manoah is on an impressive 5 start run dating back to last season. In 5 starts he's produced a 1.38 ERA, 2.64 FIP and been worth 1.0 WAR. The one start this season looks to have picked up right where he left off but with a new weapon added to his arsenal in a nice changeup and a potential tick up in velocity as well.

The post before mine mentioned the Cy Young. A little early.
