I hope Kirk monster is going to get every day ABs

 

The only way it makes sense to still have McGuire on the team is if Kirk is the starting DH, so I hope that's the plan (barring a trade for a LHB). I have no confidence that Buntoyo would consistently start Kirk over Grichuk but maybe he'll surprise me.

Kirk has more trade value than Grichuk, makes more sense to give Kirk plenty of ABs and maybe he returns some good pieces at the deadline

I've never liked soft tossers. Their margin for error is so slim. And when they start to lose it, they lose it fast.

 

I hope that's not the case with Ryu, but you can't ignore the signs from last season.

First start of the year, he'll be alright. Probably won't ever be great like 2019-2020 but he also won't be as bad as 2021

Actually look good in the 2nd and 3rd. Hard to evaluate pitchers in spring as they are generally working on specific pitches in each game like i feel Berrios last game threw 80% slurves it seemed.

That was specifically done by design(he admitted as much), likely same for Ryu... these numbers don't matter till we hit April 7th.

Detroit's loaded with good young MLB ready prospects, and plenty right behind them, not to mention Paredes and Baddoo trying to make their mark, and the trio starting with Mize/Manning and Skubal, they'll be pretty damn good soon, me thinks.

It's hard not to root for Biggio. I really hope he's healthy and bounces back this year. It would amazing if he could carve out 3+ WAR seasons over the next 3-4 years.
