glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I hope Kirk monster is going to get every day ABs The only way it makes sense to still have McGuire on the team is if Kirk is the starting DH, so I hope that's the plan (barring a trade for a LHB). I have no confidence that Buntoyo would consistently start Kirk over Grichuk but maybe he'll surprise me.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Kirk has more trade value than Grichuk, makes more sense to give Kirk plenty of ABs and maybe he returns some good pieces at the deadline
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Jayson Stark @jaysonst I don't like to overreact to early spring training looks, but Blue Jays phenom Orelvis Martinez: Wow. Just fired his second rocket HR in 8 spring ABs. Took BP the other day with Vlad & Bo Bichette - "and the sound off the bat sounded just like those guys," said Charlie Montoya Who is Charlie Montoya?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Who is Charlie Montoya? Inigo’s lesser know cousin who plays the bongos.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Not a particularly encouraging start from Ryu there. That was a pretty bad pitch.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Not a particularly encouraging start from Ryu there. That was a pretty bad pitch. I've never liked soft tossers. Their margin for error is so slim. And when they start to lose it, they lose it fast. I hope that's not the case with Ryu, but you can't ignore the signs from last season.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 He's tossing some meatballs up there today so far. First start of the year, he'll be alright. Probably won't ever be great like 2019-2020 but he also won't be as bad as 2021
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Man, Vladdy with a mental mistake there, with the runner on 3rd, he needed to go 3-6-3 there.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 How the f*** did Bo hit THAT pitch THAT far? jeez
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Ryu in mid season form I see
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Lourdes not being an absolute pumpkin for 2 months to start the season would be awesome. He looks great so far
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Beer vendor wearing the shirtsey with "BEERMAN" on it is good stuff.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Ryu averaged 88 mph on his fastball the first inning By the third, he was consistently sitting 91-92.

Actually look good in the 2nd and 3rd. Hard to evaluate pitchers in spring as they are generally working on specific pitches in each game like i feel Berrios last game threw 80% slurves it seemed.

That was specifically done by design(he admitted as much), likely same for Ryu... these numbers don't matter till we hit April 7th.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Jansen was just robbed there.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Merryweather throwing gas... And getting Rekt...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Biggio's well spoken, mature beyond his years.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Detroit's loaded with good young MLB ready prospects, and plenty right behind them, not to mention Paredes and Baddoo trying to make their mark, and the trio starting with Mize/Manning and Skubal, they'll be pretty damn good soon, me thinks.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Biggio's well spoken, mature beyond his years. It's hard not to root for Biggio. I really hope he's healthy and bounces back this year. It would amazing if he could carve out 3+ WAR seasons over the next 3-4 years.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 DJ's are captain, he has plenty of knowledge. Awesome. Oh, and Buck's lit.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Damn, Palacios has wheels.
