He's broken Jays signings in the past well before anyone else: Semien signing, Yimi Garcia signing, Berrios extension. He has legit sources, but just gonna have to wait to find out.

I'm not speculating on what to do with Vlad until the signing is confirmed.

If it is though, I may not be able to walk properly for a month.

Lourdes's cryptic comment on that IG post too.....interesting

I am still at 10% the blue jays sign him i just don't get it if they do..... I mean i will be hard over the lineup but it makes no sense so we will see.

No way... while his bat and defense is amazing... moving Vlad to 3B seems like a crazy move.

Our front office must have seen a lot from Vlad in the offseason to do this (if true).

Well there’s the Left-Handed slugger we covet. Not the one I expected but I can’t complain. Vlad switching positions again is not my favourite option though. I really hope hes not DHing every day.

So... is Vladdy a 3B then? Or are we going to have an ill-advised DH/1B platoon?

Has Vlads Instagram always say Bluejays 3B on his description? Or did it say 1B before?

Vladdy and Freeman hitting B2B is silly. Imagine pitching to this lineup if they sign Freeman and not immediately s***ing your pants.

I think Vlad would do ok at 3rd. He wasn't that great at 1st when they moved him there but once he got in shape his play improved. He should do better at 3rd now that he's in better shape. He also got a strong arm which is kind of wasted at 1st.

Baerga has broken Jays news before including the Semien signing and you don't add animated flames to your post unless you know something. I'm 99% sure that Freeman is a Jay.

I suspect that the downgrade in value moving Vladdy to 3B would be more than overcome by putting Freeman at 1B. IF that's the decision that they make, I'm probably okay with that. Where I have a problem is if they expect Vladdy and Freeman to split 1B/DH duties. I'm not a big fan of limiting flexibility like that. Also, I hope this isn't some ludicrous dollar amount, while he's a great player, he's 32 AND he's positionally limited.

Bottom line, he makes the team better today (or whatever, if he's actually even signed).

I'm pretty sure it's always said that.

Atlanta is not a factor anymore but to get Freeman away from LAD/NYY, it would probably take one more year than the other teams are offering (so either 5 or most likely 6 years). You'd have to hope he ages like Joey Votto in that case. If it happens, then 100% move Vlad to 3B, for better or worse. He's not going to like being a DH at age 23, especially after working his butt off to get in shape, and signing Freeman to DH would be a waste.

Now that I've let it sink in for 10 minutes... I would go nuts if we got Freeman. That lineup would be absolutely dangerous.

CF Springer

SS Bo

1B Freeman

3B Vlad

LF Teo

DH Gurriel

C Kirk

RF Grichuk

2B Biggio

The Jays could get creative and give him a massive AAV with opt outs on a short term offer as well.

And don't worry about the Yankees. They are small fries now and will be shopping at the discount store for the Rizzo's of the world. It's between us and the Dodgers.

then wait till Ramirez gets traded here ..LOL

Haha I'd rather save our prospect capital and just spend cash whenever possible. We can always use those prospects to plug future holes.

Reads like a bad translation. Seems like he's trying to say that put of the teams connected to Freeman, he predicts it will be the Jays.

Why would he be saying Freeman to the Jays and then asl everyone where do you think he'll go.

That was my first thought too

Don't f***ing toy with me.

Get my hopes up and then rug pull me.

I mean, it doesn't make sense to sign a 32 year old 1B but I don't really give a f*** haha. Adding a left handed masher like that to the batter we already have will be glorious.

I don't think the "we have to beat an offer because nobody wants to come here" thing applies in this case (or possibly not at all anymore, given that the Jays are considered serious playoff contenders now). Freeman's parents are both from Ontario, and he's presumably spent a lot of time here, so it's not like he needs an incentive to come to a "foreign" country.

I mean, all things being equal, I think the Jays are just as highly regarded as a destination as anywhere else in baseball right now, particularly for someone with Freeman's background.
