Have to think this insane spending stops sometime though. Teams like the Yanks/Mets/Phills etc can’t continue adding guys at 25+ million per every offseason

Are we sure about that?? At least Correa plays a premium position and could probably shift to 3B and then 1B. I guess it depends how his body ages.

Yeah. He's already seen his speed slip to below average, and his defense fell of a cliff last year. He's also had a lot of injury issues. Not liking the odds of him holding up long as an elite player.

It won't be as rich when/if Bo hits free agency.

 

Will teams really value him the way they have Lindor/Turner/Correa/Bogaerts/etc?

 

Offensively I can see it but he's not as good a defender as any of them.

The Dodgers luxury tax payroll is currently 30 mil less than the Jays. Walker Buehler is out for the season. Can they just wake up and remember they are the Dodgers and go sign Rodon so the Yankees don't get him?

Loathe this direction in baseball. Even though its not my $. Mind boggling to me.

 

After the sugar high, we are going to end up with a bunch of Miggy light players with big deals fans resent all around MLB. Playing out the string on the Fat Elvis Tour portion of their careers.

 

Bo & Vlad are both likely not extending - which means we will have to lose them pre FA walk year - if we want to extract any future value.

This offseason has been great. Not only is Toronto doing smart things, but the O's and Red Sox look pathetic.

 

I was very mildly worried that Baltimore would spend and become a real pest in 2023 but it doesn't look like they plan on it.

 

Yeah good Baltimore hasn't signed any big name FA's yet. All the top shortstops are off the board with only Swanson still available.

 

Yankees pretty much have kept the status quo so far with only bringing Judge and Rizzo back. If they sign Rodon, definitely improves their rotation.

 

Boston has been meh and likely will take another step back. Rays will always be the Rays though so never count them out.
