G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Ideally home field advantage vs Seattle, of course. Definitely Let the Astros knock Tampa out so we never have to play them this post season
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Sox take the lead in the bottom of the 8th on a JD 2-run HR; looks like we are clinching.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Really lame way to clinch hahaha we get to cheer for Matt Barnes to close it out in Boston against the Orioles? ahahahahaha grant where are you
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Definitely Let the Astros knock Tampa out so we never have to play them this post season You mean NYY? If we have home field v. Seattle, then Tampa plays Cleveland and the winner of that plays NYY. When we beat Seattle - we play Houston (which kind of sucks balls).
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Man - Andres Gimenez finishing the year with a higher WAR than Jose Ramirez is f***ing insane.

Even crazier is in a scenario where this would happen you would assume Gimenez would just get most of the value from defense and baserunning, but he's actually quite ahead by wRC+ over JRam.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 So Manoah will definitely be starting game 1 now.. phew
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 So Manoah will definitely be starting game 1 now.. phew Not unless we secure HF advantage before his start against Os, the magic # of that is at 6 (Against Rays & Seattle, both have 70 losses); hopefully they lose tonight.

And it's not like Ramirez had a bad year. About rhe same as 2021.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 At the airport as I type this waiting on a flight to Seattle. f*** FWAR, WAR and anything else. The Carlos Danger analytics Department is on the way and I will give you the ground truth. Be prepared for a comprehensive description of the ground truth in my report. You will be provided with cutting edge feedback using descriptors like: He sucks He blows Awesome He the man! Your my boy Blue! DFA that f***er! Back up the truck I would trade my mother and Spanky’s mother for that Dude, must have! Gamer! Clutch! Blue Collar player. Stay tuned! About to get in an Uber and head over to the M’s game. If nothing else I will in person scout my Fantasy Team players since I have a lot of M’s and a few Rangers on my teams Plus drink beer, probably a lot of it.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Cleveland getting some runs anytime soon, would be great.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. What's more important, maybe securing home advantage or having Manoah available to pitch in the WC round? Because it's an either/or decision unless you want to force Manoah to pitch on 3 days rest, assuming we even make the third game of the WC. I don't think Manoah pitches that game in Baltimore no matter what.

I understand the reasoning but John Schneider officially said that Manoah will pitch the game in BAL (162) if home advantage is on the line.

Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Rays' pitching going into the postseason is terrifying.

So probably at least some of Kikuchi. Basically, if we don't have home advantage wrapped up by that game, it's going to come down to getting help from out of town.

CBlake Verified Member Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 How is the Rays rotation lining up next for the wild card round? Will they get their best 3 out there? They could also be playing for homefield come next Wednesday.

They also said the next day he could be on an abbreviated pitch count (75 ish), so he could still pitch in the WC series
