I don't understand why teams do this with top arms. He just threw 60 pitches in a dominant rehab start. Why not have him use the next bullets in an MLB game, even if its only 75 pitches? He doesn't have to be fully stretched out to pitch in an MLB game.

I think it has more to do with the mild shoulder discomfort he felt after his last outing.

But what's gained by having him pitch in AAA for the next one? It's not like he dials it back - dude is out there blowing kids away with 102.

The international draft is not happening. The qualifying offer is back.

There is no deal. There was never going to be a deal.

Yikes, Rays have been hard with injuries this season. No luck at all, and they're still in the Wildcard hunt!

Was listening to a MLB podcast two weeks ago and they said the exact same thing. No point in having him rehab in AAA especially near the end of his rehab. Even if it meant using him for 3 to 4 innings at the MLB level.

I don't know exactly but I would presume it has something to do with injury monitoring or prevention

Two players with a combine 133 wRC+. They probably have better replacements in the minors lol

Os win 5 - 1 against Rays

I'd watch a replay to check out that slide by Mullins to score a run; unreal.

And with that, Jays now a full game ahead for the first Wild Card :D

Wow, the Angels are putrid

You almost feel bad for Trout/Ohtani. But...Orange County, California ain't a bad place to waste a baseball career in.

And it begins

A lot of the lustre has been coming off of the Yankees lately as the inevitable injuries and rotation correction to the mean has been occurring. I fully expect them to make notable additions at the trade deadline to reinforce their pen in particular.
