He got banned because he's the worst kind of troll. These posts had little to do with it. Cumulative effect thing. He basically got 100 chances. Just a purely negative entity.

He's back, lol.

How the hell does MLB think it is a good strategy to have teams have an off day on a Friday. Especially on a long weekend!?

MLB is so screwed up in their media/marketing/fan retention…

They also have two of their games today available exclusively on Apple TV. Big brain genius marketing.

Who the hell uses Apple TV? And if you do, who would watch baseball on it?

See, what you need to understand is MONEY. Today.

Money today is better than growing the sport long term for these owners.

I was wondering this as well. I don't think I know anyone who uses Apple TV. Maybe it's big in America?

- Apple pays MLB for exclusive games

- Fans need to sign up for Apple TV to watch their team

- Apple bombards you with ads about their shows/movies/catalog

- Apple hopes you retain the subscription or forget to cancel

- Profit for all??

Idk I guess that’s the logic

Sounds about right... The wife got a new phone a few months ago and just realized it came with a free 3 month Apple TV sub a few weeks ago. She canceled it soon as she remembered. I think it was like $5.99/Month?

So if you went out to a bar tonight and wanted to watch some baseball, good chance they don't have Apple TV to show the Jays haha.

I don't really know anyone that uses it here. I use Roku and just subscribe to apps like ESPN+ and Prime Video; that's all I need. As far as watching Jays games I always find a way. Apple TV, Youtube TV, etc are all a bunch of rip offs anyway.

Carpenter, surprisingly, hasn't looked terrible for the Yankees in the 2 games - from eye test.

Basically. ESPN dropped weekday baseball games because they were non exclusive (which meant games were on ESPN and local cable), so the value of ESPN’s deal with MLB dropped. MLB needed to make up that money somewhere, hence the Apple/Peacock deals. Streaming services aren’t going to want non exclusive games since there would be no incentive for fans to subscribe if they could watch the games on local cable.

It might be smart to start getting in bed with streaming services with cable, especially RSN’s, being a bit of a question mark moving forward, but not sure I would have picked Apple. Amazon Prime has way more reach, at least they would have made sense.

I really like the Roku interface, but there isn't a SNNow app for Roku yet, which sucks (and is why I haven't paid for SNNow). Apple TV has Mythic Quest (which I've seen and love) and Ted Lasso (which I haven't seen, but hear is fantastic), but I have a couple of buddies with PLEX servers, and I just request stuff that I don't pay for (I pay for Disney+, Netflix, Prime) on there.

Does Pham have a gambling problem or something? Seems unhinged, slapping someone over fantasy football? Wtf

I've lost count of the number of times I've wanted to slap connor silly.

Surely coverage like this is going to grow the game.

I don't get it

She says three run double

Seems like she just doesn't know the umpire discretion aspect for the runner on first

Has anyone read anything about what's going on with the projection systems? Both ZiPS and Steamer wRC+ projections seem like 10-20% too high across the board. Matt Carpenter has a 106 FGDC projection. Pillar 100. Tapia 91. Many AA and AAA prospects over 100.

Probably that wOBA hasn't been rescaled to the offensive environment

It's bad enough that they should add a disclaimer or something. Projections are almost worthless as they're currently presented.
