Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Anyone know when he's eligible to be posted? 6 years... Japanese players who sign with NPB clubs must accrue nine years of professional experience before they can sign as international free agents on the open market. A caveat to the system would allow Sasaki to come over as many as three years sooner, but he won’t be able to maximize his earnings until he turns 25 or finishes his sixth season in Japan. Bottom line: unless he’s willing to play for under fair market value, and that’s presuming the Marines oblige his request to be posted early, it’s unlikely his Major League Baseball debut will happen before 2027.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 6 years... By then, I should have the No. 1 waiver pick.

Ryu In My House Verified Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Does anyone know if it is possible to list a bunch of players by fWAR for the current season using Fangraphs? I'd like to be able to list all the ex-Jays and see how they are doing at any given time.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Was watching Sunday night baseball and didn't realize it's on 2 channels. One is this Kay Rod telecast I had on for an hour. My ears were bleeding it was so bad. Looked at guide and thankfully I don't have to subject myself to that to watch a f***ing baseball game. Man is that bad. A Rod is a guy for small doses.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Nestor Cortes just threw an immaculate inning and has 10ks in 4 innings. These guys are dumn, BTS. He shut out the Jays also, has a 17/1 K/BB through 9.1 innings, must be doing something right. Also, Hunter Greene has hit 100+ on his pitches 76 times in his first 2 starts, all time record beating deGrom, kid's a stud.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 One more K Darvish, please. Selfish reasons... Oh Sheeeeit... I need the W too. F U Braves! And what's with them getting two Sunday Night Baseball games already?

Guys with his limited stuff are the exception to the rule.

He throws across the body and hides the ball well. Decent breaking ball. Pitch seems like it's on the hitter quicker than the speed. Loup has made a solid career of similar tricks. I don't know.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Cortez? Ya. There's nothing about his stuff that screams exceptional. Have there been other players that carved out good careers with below average stuff? Sure. But it's not a big number. I don't think the odds are in his favour. And I look forward to the Jays facing him again.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 This game has flown by, not often you see a baseball game possibly ending before a hockey game.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 So Yu Darvish is cooked? Nah.
