John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 He's only at 80 pitches. No way they yank him yet.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Incredible to see Kershaw roll back the clock. Legend.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 He's only at 80 pitches. No way they yank him yet. Doesn't look like he's coming back out. Yeah, he's done, went to the clubhouse.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 He'd already gotten the handshakes and high fives after the last inning.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Doesn't look like he's coming back out. incredibly tough call for Roberts. First start of the year for Kershaw - they need him healthy in October...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 And there's the hit... Booooooo!!!
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Doesn't look like he's coming back out. Yeah, he's done, went to the clubhouse. THat's ... disappointing
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 How can you take a guy out throwing a perfect game on 80 pitches only. There are no assurances that taking him out now will keep him healthy afterwards but there is a damn good chance Kershaw may never get this chance again. As long as it was Kershaws call then I'd be cool with it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 THat's ... disappointing Yeah, it was. Although I understand concerning his history last year. Kershaw seemed fine with it, laughing and s***... IDK. As a fan, I would've loved to seen it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Torkelson first Big League Dinger!

They are f***ing incredible. Read the article and all the little details they added. It is insane. You won't regret the short read.

It's like a competition now to see how big they can make these things. "755 diamonds, four custom-cut rubies, four princess-cut rubies, 11 round rubies and the genuine white pearl set in the ring. The total gem carat weight of the ring is approximately 13.3 carats" Poker does it better with bracelets IMO

Those rings are pretty awesome but I can only imagine how intensely uncomfortable they would be to wear for any amount of time.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 (edited) Man that's tough for Roberts You prob almost hope someone gets a bloop single in the 7th so you can pull him Or wish he was only at 65 pitches and feel better about sending him back out I wish Kershaw had gotten the chance to try and finish it. My favorite pitcher since Halladay. Edited April 13, 2022 by G-Snarls

This design is something else though... - 18.71 karat white gold for the inception of the team in 1871 - 150 diamonds within the A representing the 150 year of the franchise's history - 44 emerald-cut diamonds in honor of Hank Aaron - total of 755 diamonds representing the 755 HRs Hank hit - 11 rubies placed in the miniature stands to illustrate where each playoff HR was hit - 4 corners of the ring top has a princess-cut ruby, symbolizing the Braves' 4 WS titles - a pearl to represent Joc Pederson and his pearl necklace - inscription reading 7.30.21 representing the trade deadline where they added Solar, Rosario, Duval Perhaps other rings have been designed with this much meaning and history - but I don't remember reading anything like this before. Seems incredible.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 They USED to be meant for actual wearing. Not anymore. I get that, but honestly, even the 'old' ones that were much smaller are difficult to wear. I have modestly sized one from my OBA Championship and I couldn't imagine wearing it regularly...or even for like 4-6 hours.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 (edited) Paraphrasing... *I'm not here for individual records, I'm here to win in October. Would I like to have gone for it of course, but I only have thrown a 75 pitch sim game, nevermind 7 innings, we're all here to win a Championship* - Mr. Kershaw. Edited April 13, 2022 by Spanky99
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Logan Webb is dealing against the Padres. Since he's in his second start, he's allowed to pitch past the 7th.

I think he also said something about the lockout, shortened spring and blamed himself for having not thrown a baseball for 3 months this offseason....
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 McClanahan has silly stuff tonight. Who's the last lefty starter to throw 100?

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 McClanahan has silly stuff tonight. Who's the last lefty starter to throw 100? James Paxton has. But he was never steadily at or over 100mph, but his hit 100mph or better 43 times
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 James Paxton has. But he was never steadily at or over 100mph, but his hit 100mph or better 43 times I forget sometimes how good Paxton was when he was healthy
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I forget sometimes how good Paxton was when he was healthy Probably because it was such a rare occurrence.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I forget sometimes how good Paxton was when he was healthy Paxton hit 100mph 43 times his whole career so far. Hunter Greene was over 100 mph 37 times in his first start the other night. Greene is redonkulous.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Hunter Greene was over 100 mph 37 times in his first start the other night. Goddamn. 37 triple digit pitches in a start is insane.
