Once the Yankees and Mets/Cohen were involved, there was no way the city was going to keep the mandate. The Nets could win a title and barely anyone in NY would care. The Yankees and Mets have way more financial and political clout in NY. Once those teams were impacted, it was only a matter of time. Judge and others likely knew that, which is why he was giving vague answers to the vaccine question.

And this is what's wrong with the world. Decisions made not for the greater good, but because it's affecting billionaires. (and this is a general observation that occurs far too often in all kinds of different situations - this isn't specific to COVID).

Andrew Miller is retiring

Looks like it was time to call it a career as he was down to an 88.3 MPH average on his heater last season. He had a really nice career though out of the pen after floundering as a starter.

He was a beast for Cleveland out of the bullpen in 2016!

He’s like half the reason the Jays didn’t make the WS that year. Just unhittable

Francona really revolutionized post season reliever use with how he utilized Miller in the post season.

From 2012-2017 he pitched in 350 games with a 2.01 ERA and 2.07 xFIP. Pretty insane run.

Donaldson : "So what's cheating like?"

Cole: "Stop it ok, that's enough."

Pity because Marte would be a brilliant get for us. Elite , 2B/OF and probably doesn't quite cost as much as Ramirez.

What happened now?

He still sucks? But yeah i’d give him till the end of this season before saying he’s fully cooked

I don’t think anything major, aside from having like a 70% k-rate in ST

I'll wait and see what Bellinger and Yelich do over a full season of good health but yeah not looking good. Yelich I think can at least return to being a valuable player, Bellinger not so much.

Report: D-Backs, Marte agree to 5-year, $76M extension

Looks like one of our main targets is off the board.

Is there any rule in baseball where you're not allowed to trade a recently re-signed player? If anything, this would actually increase his trade value.

No, he can be moved, cost more in value obviously. Jays aren't trading for him or Ramirez anytime soon if ever.

Pretty happy, we didn't trade Bo and Vlad for Yelich back when the rumored ask came out.
