I don't think 4/80 for Schwarber would have made sense for the Jays. His bat would have been great in this lineup, but that's a big price for a DH.

I'm curious if the Jays pivot to Conforto now or try to find a non-QO'd option.

Not sure Conforto can 'really' be counted on to play any CF, but he'd be a great LH bat to add. There are plenty of at bats available for him as an OFer/DH - and he provided good depth in the event of injury or someone sucking (Gurriel). He'd be a huge upgrade over Grichuk and we're getting comp picks back for Ray and Semien, so we can afford to lose one.

It will really depend on the cost. If he wants 4 years/$80M then no, but if he's like 3 years/$40M - I'd be pushing my chips all in.

I don't think any of the remaining bats out there make sense for the Jays at the current going rates. Unless there's a trade to be made where Grichuk is on the way out I think we're mostly set for position players. I think the bullpen is where we should be focusing now (and not a lot that's needed there either, but some room for upgrades obviously..)

He turned down an $18M QO, he's not signing for $13M AAV.

He's also rumored to be unvaccinated so i'm not sure the Jays are seriously looking at him

Conforto seems like a candidate for a 1 year deal. Do you consider him at 1/18 and give up the pick?

Source confirms: Rosario deal with Braves is two years, $18M. Club option for third year at $9M. On it: @JonHeyman

He didn't have a QO attached, so... that's not at all relevant :)

Ah - my bad.

I still don't see the market for Conforto to get more than $18M AAV...

No man, I don't think you were far off, something like a 3/4 year deal at 15 AAV.

Surprised Bryant got that much money. He has been too inconsistent to be getting that much money. Makes the Semien deal look better too.

Well, Bryant isn't chasing anymore rings. Full no trade clause also.

At least until he demands a trade after getting frustrated with Rockies management.

Or he just pounds baseballs in the Rockies and swims in his dough, he should be fully aware what he's walking into. :P

26 AAV for 7 years, wowzers!!!

The #Dodgers and Freddie Freeman are making progress on a multiyear deal, source says. @MLBNetwork @MLB

As much as I hate Morosi, he's pretty reliable when not talking about rumors

Yeah, Colorado is pretty beautiful and Kris seems like a pretty chill-out type of guy. I'd probably do the same thing after a good stretch in the MLB. But that's also probably part of the reason I could never play pro sports in the first place, b/c I'm not motivated/dedicated enough kind of guy. But Kris might just be one of those uber natural talent guys that can make it work without the insane drive it usually takes to be a good MLB player.

150M for Freeman. The Braves really couldn't match that for him instead of sending out prospects for Olson?

Possible they offered something like that Day 1 and he wanted more
