Why does 1 pitch matter if its down the middle. Such a terrible take. Great pitches to hit all night, just missing them

Ya. I don’t care if they swing at the first pitch in the 9th at all in that situation if it’s a good one to square up. They just have to get it.

Zero pressure on the pitcher. Easy to catch his breath. No wear on arm. There's a reason why the Rays and Red Sox are consistent while the Jays pad their stats in certain games and go on huge slumps in others.

You must not watch a lot of baseball if you think the Rays and Red Sox take pitches right down the middle

It was 3-1 but it didn’t feel like it whatsoever. Awful showing yet again.

They went up hacking at every pitch at the top of the order and had no runners. The bottom of the order is taking pitches but they're below league hitters.

I'm depressed right now, but not this depressed. You're acting like their window is basically closed.

Not at all. It’s baseball. Lots can happen. I just don’t think it gets any easier in this division with those huge contributions questionable for 22.

Yep. Vlad got a great pitch to hit and Teo got a good one as well. Can't let them go by. Just need to hit them solid again. Vlad seems to hit it well every other AB this series but is either too much under it or eight at someone. Hopefully he finds it tomorrow

Pretty sure that's not what I said.

I guess we'll get to watch 20-1 wins here and there and flex our run differential.

Not getting easier next season probably without Ray and Marcus incredible seasons.

Well a healthy Springer should make up for Semien... he won't get 7 WAR probably but should add some wins and another star player.

If Springer is a disaster again then it means that contract is one of the worst ever and the Jays really have problems.

And Berrios for 6 months instead of 2 will make up part of Ray.

I know. There are some glass half full scenarios to be sure. I haven’t given up on 21 either. There are also some glass half empty scenarios lol.

I think they have a chance to have a way more complete team next season. Also not ruling out the return of one if not both of them. So many little things could have altered this season trajectory. Mainly the bullpen. But they also really need some on base guys. Atleast one at the top of the order. Preferably a Left-Handed hitter. I’m eyeing up Kyle Schwarber. He’s the perfect fit. Rotate Vlad, Gurriel, and Schwarbs around 1B, LF, and DH. Dump Grichuk anywhere. Eat some of his money just to get him off the roster. Maybe you can turn him into a half decent reliever.

All three of NYY, OAK, and SEA have won or are winning. Barring a miracle, this season is over.

Playoff probability has gone from 60% to probably 10 or something in 5 days? sigh

Biggio is a controversial guy I guess because people don't believe his 2019/2020 performance was real.

However if Biggio could be 2019/2020 Biggio it fixes some of that.

f***ing amazing how quickly this team goes from scorching hot to f***ing useless and vice versa.

It's kind of how basketball teams go go hot and cold when shooting a lot of 3s. The Jays go up hacking at the first pitch, so they live and die based on how hot they are. All it takes is a team to do something different and they completely mess up these hitters.

With the level of talent these hitters have, this team is completely wasting them.

An ice cold streak like what happened in August was what I feared the most tho I really thought they had a chance at staying hot right until the end.. or at the very least just cool off slightly but still be good. But off the cliff they went.

No offense is going to consistently put up the performance that they had in the first half of the month. Even the 2015 team didn't do that. The entire reason this is happening despite the hot streak is because of constantly blowing games before the All Star Break.

I’m fine with Biggio next season at Second Base and hitting 9th if it means they can’t resign Semien. But they would need to substantially upgrade Third Base. A Jose Ramirez or Josh Donaldson type impact bat.

There is a chance. Sure. FO will be busy. Good core pieces on this team. I just have been watching baseball so long I believe teams have to capitalize when a lot of things go right, and in my view overall, they did this season.

Yeah that’s why I never understand when people are like “it’s April, it’s May, don’t worry about it”. Every game matters and way too many were blown.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

Can they get Ramirez without giving up Moreno?

If you mean 2022 Donaldson I assume they could get him by taking the contract and some b- contracts.

Kris Bryant would be a free agent option.

Semien makes the throw to first and it's just a one game lead.... Grab a couple of other blown losses and... oh well.

As of now Yankees have a good chance of clinching a play off spot in Toronto. sigh...

Wilner is probably still saying it's early, calm down
