G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 That's a f***in nice swing Dayum
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 We may never see Jansen again. Jansen is clearly better than McGuire even with an abysmal start to the season.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 ok....let's get this run in! Davies puts Canada up 1 to 0...2 sport watching harder than I thought it would be.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Jansen is clearly better than McGuire even with an abysmal start to the season. The talent levels between the two is so marginal that it would make sense to keep the LHB in McGuire.
John Balkabella Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Bo has never seen a pitch he doesn’t like.
BCZ Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Jansen is clearly better than McGuire even with an abysmal start to the season. He's been f***ed by the BABIP gods 3 seasons in a row
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 The talent levels between the two is so marginal that it would make sense to keep the LHB in McGuire. It's really not that marginal. Jansen is the better hitter and defender, and the splits difference isn't what you might think it is. Jansen has been much better against RHP than LHP in his career and McGuire literally cannot hit lefties.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Vladdy is making hitting look very easy.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 He's been f***ed by the BABIP gods 3 seasons in a row At some point you just start to accept that he has a terrible batted ball profile. Very low true talent BABIP.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Teo hasnt seen Rodon' stuff all night.....lets hope
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 At some point you just start to accept that he has a terrible batted ball profile. Very low true talent BABIP. Meh, both can be true to some extent. Jansen hasn't shown he has above average hitting talent potential but he's also likely been unlucky in his career with the batted balls he has put into play. The projections still view him as just a tick below league average offensively. His batted ball profile probably indicates he's more of a .250 xBABIP guy than the .223 he has in his career.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Another wasted opportunity. Hopefully it doesn't bite them in the ass
BCZ Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 At some point you just start to accept that he has a terrible batted ball profile. Very low true talent BABIP. Sure but .190 BABIP is not sustainable for the worst batted ball profile. Lowest sustainable BABIP is in the .240-250 range.
Anybody but Charlie Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Another wasted opportunity. Hopefully it doesn't bite them in the ass Let's be real, the rays would have at least five runs right now. So many wasted opportunities. It most likely will.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 I think that we've seen who McGuire and Jansen are. We can't keep making excuses for them and hold more talented players behind them. Time to move on from both of them this summer
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Robbie Ray has some truly absurd stuff going on this game.

John Balkabella Verified Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Great start, Robbie. Keep it up!
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 With 2 strikes, just throw a fastball in the dirt to Anderson...... guy decides to swing before the pitch is thrown
