This is kind of a minor thing since pulling your starter unexpectedly always sucks, but to me King is literally the worst possible guy you could put after Kluber. He has the exact same pitches, sinker, slider, cutter, occasional changeup, and the arm angle isn't that much different. Tampa would have went with a completely different sidearm lefty and we would be completely f***ed. This is just like facing Kluber for another round or two in the lineup, pretty bad management.

Bo really has to start taking advantage of hitting in front of Vladdy. Especially with risp. Maybe when Springer comes back leave Semien where he is and bat Springer second. Move Bo down to 5.

I just checked in on the Mets boxscore. I thought our injuries were bad. They have Villar leading off and Brandon Drury is batting 3rd for them.

Jansen has sucked ass at the plate but he's really not any worse of a hitter than McGuire, in fact he projects way better and any platoon advantage that one might have over the other is negligible anyway since Jansen is probably a better hitter regardless. McGuire's defense is not better than Jansen's, it's equal at best and Jansen knows the pitching staff a lot more since he's the everyday catcher.

 

You have to let McGuire catch one of the big three SP we have at some point. Jansen's overall game doesn't warrant starting 75% of the time. Why do people think that Jansen is some wiley defensive vet that offers so much aside from hitting? He hasn't been around that long and he's not good enough to warrant that kind of respect. It's foolish imo.
