Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Just when we thought we had seen the worst loss of the season a couple days ago, they go and top it.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Romano was running around the bullpen. Looked healthy and ready to go. Shitoyo loses another game this week

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Nearly back to .500...been a bad week no doubt.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Lots of time left in the season but FO needs to make some trades imo

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Montoyo really shows how managers can effect games. Just bad.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 So who's going first overall in next years draft
Dr.Tubes Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Sidell coming as close to saying “this was the stupidest f***ing decision Montoyo could make” without losing his job lol
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Montoyo can't manage a bullpen at all. He's been burning these guys out all year and it's catching up to him.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I wouldn’t do anything this year. They aren’t going to make the playoffs with how stacked the AL East is plus Springer is hurt and they have no pitching. If they make any trades this year it will be at the deadline if we have a shot only
Dr.Tubes Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Just a thought here and maybe this has been the front offices thinking all along but the next manager of the Blue Jays should be John Schneider. He has won a championship at every level he has managed with the jays(Vancouver, Lansing and New Hampshire). Maybe they wanted him to get a couple seasons in the majors as a bench coach before handing him the reigns. If that is the plan they should expedite it ASAP. If it isn’t they should seriously consider it.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Montoyo can't manage a bullpen at all. He's been burning these guys out all year and it's catching up to him. Yeah, but he makes up for it by also not being able to manage any other part of the team.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Bergen's ERA goes down after that outing. This just in...ERA isn't a great indicator of effectiveness.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 sooooo what was montoyo planning to do if he didnt get meadows? Montoyo just kind of forgot that his 5bb per 9 pitcher might not strike out a good hitter like Meadows
Anybody but Charlie Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 The fact that there are still people here who defend Charlie is mind-boggling. I count at least three games this week that his piss poor management directly affected. Not only is he a moron but he actually hurts your team with his decision-making. I can say without a doubt that this team would be so much better right now with f***ing John Gibbons. Not a guy who spent eight years in the minors and was pretty much selected to manage this team because of his ability to speak multiple languages. Make the f***ing change already. And maybe send Luis Rivera packing as well. Kill two clowns with one stone.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2021 Author Posted May 23, 2021 Bergen somehow scored a -0.5 fWAR while facing just four batters. I didn't even know that was possible. I'm not sure if that's a bug or something but if it's not, I genuinely don't think I've ever seen a player provide that much negative value in such a short outing.
BCZ Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Every time we play the Rays the Rays make our team seem like the dumb kid in the class that's mentally handicapped and is supposed to be in special ed...
Dr.Tubes Verified Member Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 In a way Montoyo really is a genius at f***ing things up. In one grand move he pisses off Chatwood by giving him a shot at the closer role then kneecapping him, while probably destroying any confidence that Bergen had. Montoyo will justify putting Bergen in by ejaculating over Bergen’s sub 2 Era. Don’t worry about that 5.60 fip. And of course lefty lefty ugh. And finally how badly does he f*** up his credibility with the team? Pretty tough to have confidence in a guy that always pulls the wrong levers. It is pretty sad really, this is a good young team that has competed well despite having to deal with the minor league ball park, injuries and a tough early schedule. The team is a couple pitchers and a competent manager away from being a playoff team. I know some think the jays weren’t going to compete this season so no big deal but I disagree. They are right in the race despite all of the ******** so far this season. A front line starter, a couple bullpen pieces and a magic 8 ball for a manger and watch out.

Maybe individual moves might get defended, but the impression I get is that everyone here thinks he sucks.

Maybe individual moves might get defended, but the impression I get is that everyone here thinks he sucks. I think the bitching about individual moves is a bit much, it isn't costing 10 games a year but people are acting like it. I don't like him but not convinced he's the only reason things are going south, or even the main one. Training staff? What team can win with these kind of injuries? Highest paid player, and 3 top bullpen arms gone.
