Jgarza868899 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 88 MPH meat ball, way behind lol. Lol when he missed that I knew the at bat was over.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Wow, not a pitch Cavan usually swings at.. Got ahead of himself with a run sitting right there. He definitely has a table setter mentality.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Or maybe Grienke's good? Two things can be right, he missed a meatball, then greinke made a great pitch after...not hard bro lol.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 This dude has worse command than Aaron Sanchez it seems
Jgarza868899 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Fastball command isn’t the best starting out. Hopefully he settles down
Scion Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Nate isn't even close with the fb right now and the few secondaries he has thrown have looked poor.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 This dude has worse command than Aaron Sanchez it seems It has to be all mental. He doesn't have these issues in the minors. There's like a wall once he throws a pitch in the majors.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Two things can be right, he missed a meatball, then greinke made a great pitch after...not hard bro lol. I know, bro. Hitting's easy, amirite?
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 He never had these issues before...I think it's just Mental, it will come.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 I know, bro. Hitting's easy, amirite? HUH? I never said it was, man you are weird...nothing I said implies hitting was easy. Project much?
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Come on Pearson! I thought that they were going to make him earn a call up? How can you bring him up when he can't locate his fastball?
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Missing up and away was something he did a lot last year.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Pearson is scared to throw strikes. Only thing I can think of. Not a problem like this in the minors. Gets to the majors and does it again. Start throwing strikes then go to the corners
Scion Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Get the bullpen warmed up. Pearson is not even close to the strike zone today.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 He needs the mental health coach more than anyone
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 He's capped at around 90 pitches(according to SN people), he might get through 4 at this rate.
43211234 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 20 innings is definitely enough of a MLB sample to make Nate a reliever. It just seems more likely to me. He's had injury problems and his stuff might be significantly worse as a starter. He turns 25 later this year. I am not at all saying it with certainty. Just seems the more likely outcome if I had to guess.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 I think Pearson ends up as a reliever. Every time I've seen him the command is poor. And his stuff played up so much out of the pen last year against the Rays in the playoffs. Looks like it. No confidence unless he's bringing full gas which he cant do as a starter
M.E. Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Like all of us we want him to be great but I am losing patience as it has been pretty much all hype and little results at the MLB level.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Like all of us we want him to be great but I am losing patience as it has been pretty much all hype and little results at the MLB level. It's been barely above 20 nnnings.

His stuff looks perfectly fine as a starter, he just needs to iron out his command to be effective.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 He needs to trust his stuff and not worry about getting hit
