Semien continues to impress.

His bat has been ho hum. He went through a tough stretch, like everyone else. In this game alone his wRC+ jumped from 89 to 102. Just a reminder it's early and numbers can change fast. His defense and base running has been good all year though. I still think he can be 15 to 20% better than league average with the bat for the year. He's on a hot streak headed in the right direction.

That meme brings back 2015 2016 good memories, and Governator posting during those runs on the WIN.

Apparently I need baseball explained. That’s a save situation?

"Tying run in the on-deck circle" is the shortest way to explain the save stat. (That plus pitching the last 3 innings in a win...)

Thanks. I did need that explained. Thought it capped at 4 for some reason

I love that they beat the Braves 3 in a row

For all kinds of reasons

I assume "SUCK IT, AA!" is one of them?

Cant argue with a sweep against a good team.

Bullpen remains fantastic.

Rotation is still shaky, but Stripling had a good outing all things considered. It’ll look better when we trade for Max Scherzer at the deadline.

Offense really starting to fire on all cylinders. When Semien gets it going more consistently and everyone’s healthy, he’s the 6th hitter. Nice to see Jansen get a couple knocks. We’re trending to be a Top 5 team in the AL by runs scored. f*** the wildcard, let’s go for the division. Yankees have just as much question marks as us on the pitching front (our rotation might actually be better), and our offenses are a wash. Looking like it’s gonna be a fun season.

Sincerely hope this is the truth. I’d be fine with just giving him the day off tomorrow too.

Grade II strains may take two to three months or longer to heal which is what springer had. So that's why they are being super carefull because he's probably not even recovered yet.

I'm never letting it go.

Use him like Milone at least.

I think Milone could throw 300 pitches every day and not blink.

He had a grade 2 oblique strain. They never said what grade his quad issue was. He's clearly not 100% healthy. He slipped out of the box. They did the smart thing and pulled him out. If he had badly re-injured himself he wouldn't have stayed on the bench. I'm guessing he's back tomorrow or the next day.

Glad it was just precaution for Springer but my God, fatigued DHing? Lol

It's not that weird. He is basically doing a rehab assignment at the MLB level.

Kind of is man. He didn't even run the bases and was in the dugout the entire time. Not like he was playing CF.

Springer said he was already paranoid of rehurting it so it seems to be just that. Just happy it's not anything serious physically and just seems to be a mental hurdle.

You can easily see the man is still dealing with some lingering effects from his quad injury. Did you not see when he grabbed at his quad when busting it up the first base line?

I feel like there is a fair chance Springer's fatigue was Dehydration. It was 30+ yesterday in Dunedin and neither team held BP or infield practice before the game. When being asked about Springer Charlie brought up the heat along with the fatigue. Charlie isn't the best at articulating things either

If he had the benefit of a normal minor league rehab assignment he would start by DHing, playing partial games, and he'd be held out of games with inclement weather , etc. They are basically just doing that in MLB games because the minors are still not active.
