That is seriously a crazy difference. Like maybe historic improvement over 3 seasons.

This was honestly the worst stretch of losses I think i've ever witnessed from the Jays. That week was so demoralizing.

 

As for your question, if you just compare something quick like Bullpen WAR here are the numbers:

 

Yankees: 7.2 WAR

Tampa: 7 WAR

Seattle: 7 WAR

Boston: 4.7 WAR

Oakland: 1.5 WAR

Toronto: 1.4 WAR (25th in all of baseball)

 

And that made the difference. Bullpen definitely sunk the season early on.

I said in the other thread that it was a disappointment that the Jays missed the Postseason in 2021 by one game because Atkins failed to address the bullpen in-season and I was being attacked left, right and centre by the Mike Wilners of this board for saying so, and you agreed with them. Yet after the 2021 season, you specifically blamed the shortcomings of the bullpen as to why the team missed the Postseason.

 

But hey, attack me and say I got rekt for bringing up that point in a recent discussion, while you said the same thing two years ago lol.

Im always mystified by this FO and their ability to call up guys mashing in AAA just to ride the bench for 2 weeks before being sent back down.

Biggio deserves to be playing right now. Despite social media tearing him up. He’s been playing well for over a month now. .360 on base and some pop with quality Defense and Base Running.

 

But yea Davis should 100 percent be playing. It’s a odd that he seemingly got benched after one bad game.

If you’re playing Biggio, Schneider just doesn’t have a spot unfortunately. Unless you’re benching Whit, or benching Varsho and playing Whit in CF.

Both of them would be playing if it were up to me, but obviously I have no say in the matter. Schneider seemingly isn't going to get many starts right now against right handed pitching despite showing reverse splits in the minors so unfortunately he's the odd man out at the moment. I have a hard time imagining his third base defense is so bad that it warrants having Espinal and DeJong in the lineup at the same time but c'est la vie.
