I wanted a high leverage reliever added, we didn't get one but if you add Pearson, Manoah and hopefully eventually Merryweather that's a lot of high leverage potential added right there.

I like our lineup... I don't even have a problem with how Montoyo has constructed it but how would you guys go about improving it if you could? Excluding trades but including calling up any guys in the miners?

Call up Kevin Smith and give him ABs at 3B to see what he is while demoting a BP pitcher. Improves our D and our O if he becomes another 800+ OPS guy in our lineup, which is already filled with them.

 

Less ABs for either Grichuk/Gurriel/Espinal, our weaker lineup members.

Can't disagree with any of this. But just like Biggio I see Gurriel getting back to his previous numbers once he's completely healthy and completely adjusted again.

Berrios is already on the 40 man isn't he? There was the whole DFAing Chatwood for him that had everyone happy IIRC.

He is a perfect utility guy, he's not a starter. He is not going to keep hitting the way he has his .babip is over .350.
