That's what I figured, lol. No, I don't think so. Jgarza guy was a zee or Dogg account, that I knew. There's no place for that, jaysaureas or whatever has to go, classic dogg.

In this age of returns, for a rental, it wouldn't be anyone in our Top 10. I could see us sending CJ Van Eyk or even Pardinho though.

Funny because I joined this message board through Google a year ago but do recall it wasn't easy to find. I'd still love to find a message board that has fans of all teams and just not the Blue Jays.

 

Yeah, the only way to find this forum before was to google "blue jays message board" just because it's the name of the site. But the search result flat out had a flag on it from Google saying the site owners aren't allowing their search engine to index the site.

 

All you got was the link and nothing else, not even a site description. So yeah, it was still possible to find this site because of that but far fewer searches brought it up than will now.

Mhm, I don't think the Google issues stem as far back as 2015. Feels like the wide majority of the active forum members are from the OG class of 2013 when the forum started and then a bunch of people from 2015, since that's when the team got really good and people were excited to talk about it.

 

But it's kind of sad how few active people we have with join dates after 2015, aside from the ones that repeatedly make new accounts. Hopefully getting more visibility on search engines will help us draw more people here.

Do we really want the whole reddit crowd here though? I come here for intelligent conversations and good takes.... the Jays subreddit was just continuous s***ing on Atkins and Shapiro for years and whining that we should have kept Bautista/Donaldson/Edwin

This board has a long track record of demoralizing and destroying naïve fans like that. That's what I've always loved about this board. Those with open minds have a chance to learn a s*** TON about baseball, just by reading this board on a daily basis. We want them to stay. Those without typically get frustrated when nobody supports their ignorant views and they typically leave.

 

I think we're up for the challenge. If we're not, we'll roast TL for f***ing things up and then make him undo whatever the hell he did on Google so we can discuss baseball in peace.

Don't worry, the reddit crowd isn't looking for discussion forums. They already have reddit, lol. If we were going to get an influx of redditors, it would have happened in 2015 when the team was at the height of its popularity and these boards were still easily discoverable.

 

Most people who are looking for message boards these days are either hardcores or older gen types that have used forums all their lives and don't like reddit.

 

If we do get casuals on here, it's on us to be welcoming and inclusive and not alienate them out of the gate. A lot of people are willing to learn if the people sharing the knowledge aren't obnoxious about it.

I can vouch for this. The first little while here felt like an initiation period. While I still have some differences at times, I can respect the viewpoints of many here. Seem like a smart group of folks regardless of whether they feel some baseball players have the ability to direct balls in particular situations lol.

Reddit sucks, most social media does honestly, worst thing to happen to society in a long time, it's been a net loss. for Humanity. I had to remove a few long time friends from FB, they conspiracy s*** and nonsense they would go on with was crazy. Got sick of reading it.

Ya its true. As someone who is 55 and was an Expos fan back to Rusty Staub days, before there were Jays, I used to pee myself with excitement when one of our guys got 100 RBIs or 20 wins. The "Triple Crown" was everything. My first ball glove was a Yaz "Triple Crown" model. I used to be mad when one of our starters "didn't get the win".

 

Now I could give a crap about any of those things. Its why guys like Tabby make me insane.

 

Still have a lot to learn, but this Board has been a great source of discussion/debate and you can learn a lot about whats really creating incremental value in performance. Bring on the new posters and they will be open minded or get chewed up. Its Darwinian.
