Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Eyeballs, is there more to this? Just a 46 year old dude on Twitter boasting about his kid. Also, I suspect Springer saw last night's game and just went "f*** it, I'm 100%, I wanna get out there and play with these guys!"
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I only saw it because it showed as a popular tweet. Looking at the timeline I think the eyes were posted after the grand slam. He later posted this

As cool as that sounds I won't lie, I'll be little pissed if he reaggravates the injury.
Ray Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Just think it’s worth pointing out that Ross Atkins traded Sean Reid-Foley and Yennsy Diaz for Steven Matz and replaced both of their 40-man spots with Payamps and Castro who might be better than either. We’ll see how it shakes out, but looking like a huge W.

Assuming he can keep this level of performance up at least to mid season Matz is a guy they should seriously look into extending past this season, he has looked like a top of the rotation pitcher so far. Totally amazing trade given how little was given up and how dramatically they have Matz turned around up to this point.

This was also essentially a salary dump from the Mets and I was one of many at the time complaining about the possibility that paying Matz his $5M or so could prevent them from paying Paxton $15M or so. The Jays made out like bandits even from that perspective.

If he is not < 95% and he re-injures himself I will be super angry. He is ours for 5-years. He doesn't have to come back before he is ready. Hopefully he was held back because Scherzer.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 "10 day IL - Pain in the right ass cheek" Must've been from excessive clenching. Thanks, defense!
Thaddeus Malice Verified Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Both Biggio and Bichette are near the bottom of their positions defensively. It sucks that we're wedded to Bichette at SS for the moment, because moving him to 3B, moving Biggio back to second and moving Semien to SS is probably worth a decent amount of value at this point.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 I caught last night that the Nationals team says that Roark is at home contemplating retirement. We'll have to see what comes from that.

We'll have to see what comes from that. Jays should facilitate the decision. If not, just abuse that arm as a mop up guy. Get something out of what is being paid.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Nate off to AAA to continue his rehab. Interesting to see Manoah starting at AAA this year.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Hopefully by roughly the all star break the two towers are healthy, performing really well and making up 2/5 of the Jays rotation.
