BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Red Sox down 6-0 to the Tigers in the 6th. Their hitters have been ice cold recently, and their pitching is regressing hard. We're throwing our 4 best starters at them this weekend, with 2 games being a 7 inning doubleheader which naturally favours. A sweep isn't out of the question here, but 3 out of 4 will put us right back in the division conversation. They definitely have a shot at catching the Red Sox and leapfrogging the A’s. Not really sure how to feel about the Yankees. I’m not sure the Jays can chase the Rays for the division. But given how half the fan base didn’t even think this was a wild card team a week ago, the Jays are definitely trending the right direction.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 The Yankees are looking much better with Rizzo and Gallo in the lineup. I wouldn't rule them out. Going to be an interesting 2 months.

I feel like this is said before every series against the Red Sox, and every series they s*** pump us. I'm just hoping for a split.
Benito Verified Member Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Sale could be a big boost for the Sox. It's only 15 innings in milb, but his numbers look impressive. Wonder what the reports are regarding how his stuff is looking?

So its setting up for the Sox offense to come alive and a classic disappointing Jays series. Nice.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Gallo with a 3 run HR to give the Yankees the lead. Yes, the HR was barely over the RF fence.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Chapman struggling to throw strikes and the ump has gifted him like 3 calls already. f*** the Yankees
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Lol Chapman is trash, almost gave up a go-ahead homer in the 9th... Haniger just missed
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Ooooof. Huge blow to the A's, big break for the teams competing with them for a playoff spot.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Yikes. I'd love to know what % of players are still on PEDs. How many are out there staying ahead of the testing game and masking it well enough not to get caught.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Kimbrel assplodes... Andrew Romine with a 3 run jack to tie it of all people, lol
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 lol, Kimbrel had 2 earned runs allowed all season with the Cubs. He gave up 3 more runs on that Romine shot to the Cubs. And the White Sox gave up Madrigal for him hahaha. Worst part of that home run was that it was a cheapie too.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Holy, steal my thunder... lol
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Funny nugget about the Athletics: They're hoping to fill the hole of a guy who just got suspended for Nandrolone (Laureano) with a guy who previously got suspended for Nandrolone (Marte).
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I guess the question of who the closer is with the White Sox got answered today.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Marte 3 run walkoff dinger. FUuuuuuuu...
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Oh s***. I think we've all heard the rumours of Vizquel being scum for years already.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Get this motherf***er away from baseball forever please.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I'm watching the Giants game and Aaron Sanchez looks like a AAA junkballer now.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 I'm watching the Giants game and Aaron Sanchez looks like a AAA junkballer now. And he's hurt again?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 And he's hurt again? I don't think so. He was only expected to go a couple innings.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 And he's hurt again? Jesus...
