Because it's Will Craig and he's a DH. And Baez knew he was a dummy. The disrespect to even try that.

Yup. Almost every 1B in the league would have looked at Baez like he was an idiot and calmly walked the ball over to the bag for the easy inning-ending out. Baez somehow knew he could make Will Craig into a meme and clowned on him.

That is an all-time blunder. A completely brain dead play.

He could have just kept walking towards Baez and tagged him. Why did he throw home? I don't even think you would see this mistake in little league.

Arencibia-esque

So, I was looking for this meme...

And while I was googling, I found out that he's now dating Tomi Lahren. I didn't think I had any respect for him left to lose, but here we are...

He also could have run all the way back to first base for the force out, nullifying the run at the plate.

Just some absolute wood-tier intelligence displayed there. Javy Baez galaxy brain play

What? Wow never would have him pegged as a MAGA moron.

Disappointing.

Chris Archer had a setback during long toss, forearm discomfort, sounds like the man could be finished, sad really, he's such a special human being. One of the real good guys.

So does David Fletcher just suck now?

Pour one out to all the victims of the dead ball. At least he got a guaranteed contract before coming undone.

Why is that Baez play an outlier on MLB.com as a great play? It was mind numbing how terrible it was?

My buddy's son showed him the play from his phone, I proceeded to tell them that it was 2 outs, then they were like WTF? Will Craig's a moron.

Ohtani has posted a 2.37 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings in six starts this season but saw his velocity dip by roughly five mph in his last outing on Wednesday against Cleveland. Ohtani, however, has insisted he’s healthy and has a homer and five RBIs at the plate in his five games at DH since that outing.

Wait, what??? 5 MPH is a massive loss in velo. These writers are invalids.

Again MLB dropping the ball, yeah, he's a fit... who we giving up boys?

Here are five moves we'd like to see. (General managers, feel free to use these for inspiration.)

Max Scherzer to the Blue Jays

Sure, the Nationals are still in the race in the slow-paced National League East and could have a run in them. And even if not, Washington could decline to move Scherzer, who also has the power to veto any deal. But if the Nats can’t get things going, Scherzer will be coveted. The 36-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and he's back in vintage form after a pandemic-shortened 2020 that was subpar by the standards of a three-time Cy Young Award winner. Through 10 starts, Scherzer owns a 2.27 ERA, while ranking in the 93rd percentile of MLB pitchers in strikeout rate and whiff rate, thanks to his ability to miss bats with five different offerings. (Coincidentally, his worst start came against Toronto, including two Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homers).

Mad Max fits just about anywhere -- including with his hometown Cardinals -- but Toronto would be a particularly appealing destination. The Blue Jays have their hands full in a loaded American League East featuring four contenders, but mediocre pitching is dragging down a dynamic offense that will get even stronger when George Springer returns. Toronto starters aside from lefties Hyun Jin Ryu and Robbie Ray own a 5.49 ERA, and it’s worth remembering that Ryu has a checkered injury history. This is a team that could really use an elite right-handed starter, especially to go up against the righty-heavy Yankees. And if the Blue Jays end up in a win-or-go-home AL Wild Card Game? Having Scherzer as an ace in the hole sure would be nice for a franchise looking to make its first World Series trip in 28 years.

So lazy.

I mean I think Craig's reaction made everyone confused, but even the pitcher and 2nd basemen ended up napping. If either realized what was happening and covered 1st, the catcher just throws it to them to get Baez and the run doesn't count.

We definitely should s*** on Craig a lot, but almost everyone on Pittsburgh had a brain fart there. Why was the catcher even covering home...he should have just had his hands up telling Craig to just tag Baez (or go back to 1st base).

Seriously though?

lol... I swore you were kidding.

Sounded like a joke but no

Ohtani and Suzuki both missed the game due to traffic

Kinda ridiculous

This sounds insane given the fact that players are usually at the park at least three hours before the game.

I guess they got there before the game started, but "an hour later than required to prepare"
