G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 This isn't really baseball, but Sid Seixeiro is leaving Tim and Sid for a local morning talk show. I'm going to miss his passion and crazy Jays hot takes that were usually wrong. Also they just worked really well together

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Since I was a kid. I remember watching them on the Score when I was a kid and then it morphed into a great partnership. Poor Tim seemed heartbroken when he broke the news.

Can’t say I’ve heard of Terrance and Philip (I guess I mean Tim and Sid)... but Mike and Mike here in the states had some great on-air chemistry but they actually hated each other’s guts irl

I believe they were getting killed by overdrive on tsn 1050. A new a boss at sportsnet too, I believe. Probably wanted a change and it was time. I follow some guy on twitter who usually has the insight on these things and he was suggesting the two wouldnt last months ago. They were a good duo though.

Sid got a gig at Breakfast Television, which is a step up in terms of money. It looks like he left on his own accord. Tim is actually staying and they'll be trying to find him a new partner so I don't think it's what you're saying. Overdrive guys are great but they are so hockey centric and know nothing about any other sport. That is aside from Hayes of course who is one of the best in the business. I will say they are improving their knowledge on other sports slowly.

Tim staying is probably because he's a good host, but it seems like they felt they needed new a dynamic, because ratings were poor. Also, it isnt guaranteed that tim is staying because they said they'll have rotating guests with tim until furthere details are announced. Not saying sid didnt want to leave, but if the show was doing well they wouldve gave him enough to stay. I dont really like overdrive either, but apparently they are killing it in their time slot.

I don't know about the ratings but getting a job at BT isn't something that just happens. You could be right but watching the show today, just seemed like what they said was genuine. I'm a bit biased since I've been a huge fan of their since the start so hate seeing this happen. I thought their big announcement was going to be them adding a 3rd cohost because I did feel the show was getting stale at times. Not sure how Tim will survive alone tbh. He doesn't have the personality to carry a show alone.

It's unusual to see a guy leave a national broadcast where he is beloved for a local morning talk show. Maybe it's a step up in pay, but it's a very large step down in prestige. Most of his former audience will forget he even exists.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 So come and getit... Yes or No?? Hmmm.... What's going on here? Are we having some drinks tonight? Lol

I'm like you're leaving a prime time spot in a field of your passion for breakfast f***ing television? Lol

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 I never learned which of them is which, they were just Tim and Sid, now they are both Tim or Sid.

I can't wait to see Sid breakdown the new spring fashion trends.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 If the Mets wouldn't go an extra 25M for their #1 target Springer because of luxury tax concerns how/why would they do it for Bauer? I don't believe that story
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Sid is going to Breakfast TV? I thought that was off the air years ago lol.

That's really sad, I wonder if SN fired Sid but gave him some tim to find a new gig so he could save face. He specifically said he wasn’t fired. It’s too bad, if we are being honest he was the less replaceable of the two. Tim is the straight man, it isn’t that hard to find. Sid really walked the line of douchebag/blowhard and self-deprecation with mastery, and he was passionate and knew his s***. I can’t help but think he’s going to a much worse fit.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 Anthony Bass gets a 2 year deal from the Marlins. I'm happy to see him get rewarded for a solid year.
