Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Legit, how many net losses/runs has Charlie been worth? He is so f***ing brutal. Anderson just sailing. s*** line up. And brings in Font FFS. Everyone needs a turn. Montoyo will never win a postseason series with his little league mentality
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Lynn might be going to the Dodgers per Morosi
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Montoyo doing montoyo things
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 "Intelligence is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Charlie Montoyo
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Font is a gas can, he should be dfa'd next.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 If left to his own devices a guy like Charlie Montoyo would just let Anderson come out for the 6th. Decisions like that are coming from above, based on agreed upon managerial strategies. You can also rest assured that statistically it is probably the right move regardless of result. Manager has to have a backbone and use his eyes to assess the situation

Don't know of it's legit, but Shulman/Buck said he's better 3rd time through the order.

Laika Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Manager has to have a backbone and use his eyes If they wanted a manager with a backbone they would not have hired Charlie Montoyo. lol.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 The incompetence of Montoyo is really going to shine in the playoffs to the point where I doubt it will be possible for him to begin 2021 as the manager. I think we're already there.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Don't know of it's legit, but Shulman/Buck said he's better 3rd time through the order. He most definitely is not better a 3rd time through the order.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Font rocked hard...pretends to be shocked, lucky he never gave up two bombs.

I'd bet if you played out the scenarios 100 times, leaving Anderson in vs Font, Anderson would come out on top a good majority of the time.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 By the eye test Grichuk has been a rock in CF. Yeah Gritch has been solid out there.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Even if removing Anderson is the right call, bringing Font in is not. (And for the record, I would have had no issues keeping Chase in).

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 He isn't. ERA: 3.41 - first 3.91 4.90 - third time through K-BB% 15.2 10.7 8.6 - third time Thanks. How can Buck/Dan blindly just make s*** up on air lol?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 If they wanted a manager with a backbone they would not have hired Charlie Montoyo. lol. Yeah I agree, but he seems to over-manage the pitching a lot. Feels a lot like Dave Roberts' playoff managing. You gotta use your eyes, sometimes guys are coasting and sometimes they're nott. The pitching changes/decisions should be made based on the real-time situation.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Gurriel, nice to get him going.

May be the right move to remove Anderson, but totally wrong move to use Font here. This is the 2nd game in a row now that Anderson left with a lead only to have Font blow it. At least this time he was able to limit the damage. Font is too inconsistent, and when he is not on, he is awful. DFA all the way on this piece of dog s***.

Some of the biggest nerds on earth have been paid to look into this, with millions and millions of dollars at stake. I don't think the nerds agree with you.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 What a dumb move even if he is safe.
