jaysthebest Verified Member Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Guerrero's struggle continues... This guy became a single hitter. No extra base hit, takes 0 walks.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 for those that can't stand how he takes out his jersey immediately after the last out....its a thing in baseball, he doesn't get to own that

jaysthebest Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 How many more games will the team play Guerrero Sr's obese son until they figure out he is nothing but hurting the team?
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 If I see one more time Vladdy is batting at the top of the order, I will assume the team isn't urgent about winning.
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Cant believe Vlad has been a below replacement level player for 4 f***ing months. Unreal fall off. Lazy at bats, horrible base runner, bad fielder. Pretend his 2021 never happened...does he even get tendered a contract for 2024? 2019: sub replacement, 2020: replacement level player, 2022: above average 1B, 2023: replacement level player at best. If his name and pedigree didnt carry so much weight you would have serious conversations about non-tendering this POS at seasons end.

He basically had one elite season, one above 1B average and other three seasons were sub league average. 2021 season was a fluke.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 My opinion of Vlad this point is that I have no reason to question his talent. I have a lot of reasons to question his dedication and commitment. A lot of teams in a lot of sports have had "that guy" that was supposed to be a rock-star but failed to achieve that goal. He is one of those players that seems bound to underachieve with the Jays and has a chance to figure it out on another team. Sometimes the only way to kick someone in the ass is too pull the chair out from them first. Vlad needs a wake up call and I don't think he will get it with the Jays. I want the Jays to move on from him this off-season. He thinks he is the golden-child and can do no wrong in spite of his abysmal performance. The team and the Toronto media needs to stop gargling his balls and treat him like an every day ball player. It's pretty sad that so much of the Sportsnet marketing has been around him and Manoah. Based on performance this season they should both be off the team.

We all know it's going to happen just not here.

deanmike Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Vlad Sr's obese son is a f***ing fatass bum. I am praying on his downfall, only silver lining from last night's loss is that this f***er's hilariously bad game helps his fWAR continue to get closer to 0.
bluejaysinternNo5 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I'm pretty sure the tide is turning on Vlad even amongst the casual fans. Which is good news because I can barely stand to watch this team while he's on it.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 If he had signed an extension, it would be easier to boo/hate him. He’s just not living up to expectations. Definitely a disappointment but don’t wish him ill will. He’ll probably come alive in his walk year

Or cut bait and make sure we don’t waste Bo’s final year
goldbug103 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Cut bait ASAP. Fatty G is still respected around the league, he won the derby and came in runner up another year. He just hasn’t mastered MLB level pitching. Some dumb team might think there’s hidden talent and pay a haul. He’s also being paid too much for the return.

There's no denying there's hidden talent..it's not even really all that hidden. The issue is the mental roadblock in the way of that talent is pretty significant. Would anyone truly be surprised if he hit 40 bombs next season given his talent levels? On the flip side, would anyone be truly surprised if we see the same 100 wRC+ hitter with s*** d and s*** baserunning? All I know if the front office needs to figure out how to get through to him and fast, or just send him in his way.

You get two more cracks at the pot and then after that you reassess. I believe there is nobody to hold Vlad accountable in the entire org. They’re treating him like he’s David Ortiz when he’s Eric Hosmer. Maybe hire Edwin to be full time?

Only way you trade him is for another star young player who needs a change of scenery or for someone like Pete Alonso maybe. Otherwise, just hold onto him and hope he has a big FA year where he could go .300/40/100 and reap the benefits. This organization and even the media treat him like he's a king when he isn't playing like one. It's all because of his father. Never saw such an arrogant, whiny and spoiled player in my life. Makes it really tough to like him, same as Manoah.
