Our best reliever pitched 1 inning on August 10th (4 run lead), and 1 inning on August 15th (5 run lead).

 

He won’t pitch again until August 20th at the earliest. There were also 2 offdays in between that timeframe. Each game was close/winnable at points in the later innings.

 

What the actual f*** Charlie? Atkins, be better. We need to get rid of this clown.

This is such a fantastic post, It drives it home how bad he is managing his bullpen. If its a close game and u are needing a shutdown appearance by the bullpen, you dont turn the ball over to a guy that the organisation releases the following day, epecially when your closer has sat and you have better options avaialble. Fire Him Now!!!

Bring on John Schneider. He's been groomed enough. Already won championships managing the Vancouver Canadians (2011), Dunedin Blue Jays (2017) and NH Fishercats (2018).

 

Not to mention that he won with half the current roster as his players when they were in the minors.

Nope. I've been saying since early on that IF we do make the wildcard game this year, we will lose it in epic fashion like the Os did in 2016. I fully expect it to happen.

I hate doing stuff like this, but I made an exception. I wish Charlie all the best, but imo he has not demonstrated an understanding of how to manage a game at the big league level. I can see him being an excellent minor league manager.

Why not play Smith at short and give Bo a half day off at DH? It's a little thing but Bo and Vlad both may be tired, and a little load management wouldn't be a bad thing.

This team needs a manager that will enforce some discipline. They play extremely sloppy, I get that you don't want to be playing uptight but 2 errors cost them this game. Kirk can't let that ball pass and that throw from left should be an easy out but nope, another close game loss to sloppy mistakes

I don’t think he does want to return. He likes it at home in Texas. I think if the Rangers offered him the job he would take it, but other than that he’s probably fine relaxing at home.
