Bold Predictions Thread, 2020

Let's not put money on it, but let's get some bold predictions in before Opening Day.

 

Here are some of mine:

 

Houston does not reach postseason

Minnesota beats Yankees in postseason, wins ALCS, and reaches World Series

Washington does not reach postseason

Diamondbacks win 100 games

A-Rod part of new Mets ownership, sparks new chapter in feud with Jeter

All of baseball carries out mutiny against Manfred

 

I'll add more later.

None of the first five regular season starters for the Jays are in our rotation by the end of the year.

 

The Dodgers win 120 games but still fail in the postseason.

 

Aaron Sanchez makes a glorious comeback, ending with him pitching in the World Series.

 

After Mookie Betts signs an extension with the Dodgers, Marcus Stroman secures the highest contract in the free agent market.

 

This year’s surprise team will be.... the Detroit Tigers.

I concur with the projection that Vlad finishes the year in 3rd place on the Blue Jays offensively. 1. Biggio 2. Bichette

 

I project I will get really sick of Randall Grickuck by the end of the year.

 

Hatch is the next Blue Jays closer...

 

Bass will lead the team in holds

 

Giles will either be hurt (on IL) or traded by August.

 

Blue Jays inning limit on Pearson will send fans and Fantasy owners into winter long depression.

Yeah 11-1 to win the NL pennant just isn't good enough juice though. Barely 4 to 1 to win the NL East as 4th favourite is weak too.

I like this bold prediction.

-all three of Gurriel, Grichuk and Hernandez out WAR Puig

-Nate Pearson comes up in May and proceeds to win rookie of the year award for AL

-Mathew Shoemaker miraculously makes it through an entire season without serious injury

-Red Sox finish 4th in AL East

-Torkelson drops to 5th and gets drafted by Jays (gotta dream big)
