Do you get the impression TB's FO would give real consideration to the fact that Toronto is in their division?

I don't think either front office cares in any conscious way, but they are still humans and humans can't outthink their biases. There are certain fallacies that will always operate in the brains of men.

Good signing. Wisler did some interesting things this year.

Interesting things like throw his slider 83.4% of the time. That is insane. It is dirty though...

White Sox in agreement with free agent outfielder Adam Eaton, source tells @NBCSChicago. It's a 1-year, $7 million deal with a second year team option for $8.5 million.

I don't see much upside there, but he's certainly an upgrade over Mazara.

I'm not to be upset if they open the season with guys like Michael King and Jonathan Loaisiga in their rotation.

I know it’s just a 2 game sample size but I wonder if getting lit up like an Xmas tree in the post-season hurt his chances for NY bringing him back. If he kept up the “ clutch SP” narrative it may have been a little harder to let him go.

No.

Yankees are smarter than that. If they don't re-sign him it's because of some combination of cost constraints and concerns about his health

Sounds like Lemahieu is their priority and they might not be able to afford much after that if they pay him what he's worth

Yankees apparently lost more money than any team in baseball in 2020, they don't want to go crazy in luxury tax territory, and have to re-sign LeMathieu. If they re-sign DJ, then I don't think they are going to spend much on pitching.

Kind of debatable what they should focus on. They still have Stanton, Judge, Torres, and Voit. Couple other passable pieces. Health obviously concern

I don't really like that for the Royals, nor do I like the Minor deal. They probably should have been more patient and waited for deals.

Industry is saying 100% vice versa... They were aggressive and got really good contracts relatively. They were just discussing this exact point on MLB XM

Good in comparison to what? Those contracts would have been market value in last year's market, maybe even an overpay.

Howie Kendrick and Edwin Encarnacion were both coming off of better seasons and got 1/6 and 1/12, respectively. They are reasonably good comps for age and defensive value.

Unless there is a surprise team out there with money looking for a catcher, I think the Jays end up with Realmuto at this rate (assuming McCann ends up with the Mets).

Rays need but cannot afford

Great success

Passan on the michael kay show said the Mets are "definitely" the favourites for Springer.

Pretty much lines up with with Olney saying he'd bet the family farm that Springer goes to the mets.

Nightendale on the Fan also had the Mets getting Springer.

Some other tidbits are he thinks Lemahieu could sign in the next week to 10 days. Pretty much said the Yankees are the favourites but need to up their offer. Their first offer was "underwhelming".

Also said his instincts are that a Lindor deal will take a while.
