Even Thornton or Borucki could be in the mix. Anderson will definitely be gone ($500K buyout is a done deal at this point). Roark may get another chance since they are on the hook for the full $12M, but won't last through May, if he continues to pitch the same garbage as this season. Seems to be a lack of command, getting behind in the count and no 'stuff' to battle out of it. The guy had 14.7 fWAR in 7 seasons from 2013-19 (average 2.1 per season), but garbage right now.

He went to get his elbow cleaned up due to having "loose bodies" in it. Who knows what that means for rehab. He could be back next ST or out for the year.

Just from an odds standpoint, regardless of the haplessness of the opposing team, it is very hard to get the sweep in a 4 game series. To get swept in back to back 4 game series might be another record the 2020 Jays could set, or tie? (I believe they already set records for most HR surrendered in a 3 game series and also in a 5 game stretch - absolutely wretched!!)

 

I almost hope they lose every game to the end and miss the ridiculous 2020 'post-season' altogether. This team has no business anywhere near post-season play, and these young guys need a wake-up call that the f***ing idiot Montoyo is never going to be able to give effectively.

Well I did say 'almost'. A couple wins, and I am sure I will be back on the bandwagon, LOL. But seriously, this is a young team that needs to learn from adversity. What is better adversity / learning experience - s***ing the bed completely down the stretch or going into TB and getting their asses handed to them in the 1st week of Oct. ?

agree that Manfred is an abomination and this 16 team post-season is a total joke, which if they continue in future seasons would do untold harm to the great sport. BUT, why is the 'save' so bad? Is it the concept or more so the current requirements for what counts as a save?
