Aaron Sanchez and Biagini Traded to Astros for Derek Fisher

How the hell do you all praise picking up these s***** A-ball relievers and then when we trade Biagini and Sanchez, both of whom suck ass, for Fisher everyone hates it?

 

He's not McKinney, he actually has physical tools (including near elite speed) and plays CF. We don't even have a CF on the roster right now. I'd call him up right now and play him the rest of the year but next year he should be an okay 4th OF.

 

I like this deal for us. I know the Astros are up to something and Sanchez could turn it around for them in a big way but let's face it, Sanchez wasn't working for us so it was time to cut bait. I like the deal for the Stros too.

Once again, it seems like Atkins identifies a player he likes and settles for that. Never gets any decent secondary pieces in these trades.

Derek Fisher is a pretty good return for a couple of bums

 

You guys are making me question whether you even watch the games anymore. Sanchez has been hurt a lot and struggled for a long while, but he is not a bum and is on a hot streak right now. We need pitching for the rest of the year and can get players like Fisher anytime. This is pure embarrassment and I have no doubt Sanchez will pitch great for the Astros, not just because they have some secrets to unlock him either.

I don’t really like Sanchez either but would have preferred to see him moved to the pen where he could have actually rebuilt some value instead of adding another fringe boring corner outfielder. How many mediocre left fielders do we need?

 

What are the odds that Sanchez has a better year than Shane Greene's 2019 next season? Greene just returned Joey Wentz and Travis Demeritte. The odds that Sanchez @ 5M or whatever was going to become so dominant in relief that he'd return much more than Derek Fisher are pretty long. Zero problem with them walking away from him now.

Yeah I don't have issue with Fisher as one piece, but IMO there needs to be more on the table from the Stros to make this a reasonable return.
