Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Matt Garza sounds like a real winner.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 And she wears the pants http://i63.tinypic.com/2cdhlsh.jpg Hmm not sure why I can't find these tweets on his Twitter. Maybe he deleted them?

Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 In just 4 games Sogard has 2 dingers and 6 RBI's and is batting .385 for TB. I hope goes on to win WS with them, they have a legit chance

flafson Verified Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Does any one know if the players to be named later are dependent on Sogard and/or the Rays success?? It was mentioned on MLBTR that the Rays top prospects were off the list during the trade deadline negotiations so we can forget about those.
Todd Verified Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Any idea who the blue jays might get in this trade.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Any idea who the blue jays might get in this trade I dont even think Shatkins have made up their mind yet. They probably have a short list though
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 If the Rays traded for Sogard, then that means he's legit. I hope the Jays got at least 2 intriguing lottery tickets, but the Rays are run so well I'm not optimistic.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 It was mentioned on MLBTR that the Rays top prospects were off the list during the trade deadline negotiations so we can forget about those. You don't say?

I hope the Jays got at least 2 intriguing lottery tickets, but the Rays are run so well I'm not optimistic. My guess is they'll get one 23-24 year old that's kind of fizzled out but might be a depth piece somewhere in the organization. Plus one 19-20 year old that is moderately regarded... Probably high risk to actually make anything of himself but has some intriguing tools. I don't think either will crack the Jays top 30.

They just have much smarter front office that’s seemingly ahead of the curve in a lot of areas despite limited resources. The good thing is getting anything useful for Sogard is a plus. Spring invite success stories are always fun.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I'm guessing Garrett Whitley and some guy in rookie ball we've never heard of.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I'm guessing Garrett Whitley and some guy in rookie ball we've never heard of. It's already been reported that the Jays are choosing 2 among a group of 4 pitchers that the Rays made available.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 The reason why they are called "players to be named later" is because GM's want to see how well these players have performed at the end of the season. Right now its too early because their minor L. season isnt complete yet
Todd Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 maybe it will be Ben Brecht and Orlando Barrios. Just a idea.

Right now its too early because their minor L. season isnt complete yet Atkins said at the time of the trade that they'd know something "within a month". Also, IIRC the reporting suggested that there were two groups, and the first PTBNL would come from group A and the second from group B.

Group A = candidates to be cut from the Rays’ 40 man, group B = lottery tickets in short season ball?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Group A = candidates to be cut from the Rays’ 40 man, group B = lottery tickets in short season ball? I think that's most likely
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Group A = candidates to be cut from the Rays’ 40 man, group B = lottery tickets in short season ball? Was confirmed already that the players are not on the 40 man roster.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Was confirmed already that the players are not on the 40 man roster. And that they're pitchers.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Was confirmed already that the players are not on the 40 man roster. But I'm sure one will probably need to be added this offseason or go the Rule 5 route.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Still no news on the 2 players we will be receiving?
Ray Verified Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Still no news on the 2 players we will be receiving? 2 pitchers is all we know
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Pure guess on my part but it seems like we will know after the minor league season is over.
flafson Verified Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Hopefully the return depends on his success because he's having a breakout season.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Pure guess on my part but it seems like we will know after the minor league season is over. Seems about right.
Todd Verified Member Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 The return in this trade should be coming soon?
