Jansen looks completely lost at the plate, what happened?

Nothing has happened. It's been 12 games, he's going through a slump, it happens. He's probably not seeing the ball too well right now and he'll be fine in a month's time. There is zero cause for concern, seeing as his defense has been wholly unaffected.

Just to put things in perspective. Grichuck and Morales started off last year horribly. They ended up having a pretty good second half. Though I am not a fan of half season players..

Of course not, although I will say that his defense making strides has been quite exciting, as I'm more likely to believe that this will stick going forward as opposed to his current hitting futility.

This. His pitch framing has been a pleasant surprise and the strides he's made in that department have me genuinely excited for his future. In my opinion, that was the biggest question mark in his game and he's shown demonstrable improvement there. When his hitting comes around, he might be the best player on the current roster.

Guerra needs to give us a chance here so that we can try to put up a rally in the bottom half of the inning before Jose Alvarado emerges from the bullpen in the 9th.

Giving us a chance isn't really Guerra's strong suit...

His pitch location on the other hand has been pretty bad in this inning.

I like Mayza a lot but he's still very inconsistent. Some days he's unhittable and others he doesn't know where the ball is going.
