Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Not really. Well Bob is a Brit and I'm American. Pretty big in both places. I'm as equally bewildered at the hate for watching Tiger win the Masters as some of you all are at me for watching it. On a side note some guy just cashed in his $85k bet on Tiger winning it for $1.1 million. Lucky bet
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I like watching a lot of sports. Golf just isn't one of them, it's by far the most boring sport I can think of, but again that's just my opinion. I also have a difficult time focusing on other sports when baseball is on, even with the NBA playoffs going on which I really enjoy I still find myself being more interested on the Jays who are bad. Dude, have more strength in your convictions. Some things are objectively terrible, like Hitler. If Hitler was a sport, it would be golf.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Can we just end the Hanson thing? Maybe we could see if Elvis can do something with the bat?
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Hanson is terrible by is he with the team. Urena was doing well up here
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I guess it depends how you define biggest. I mean, the Superbowl happened obviously. If you mean unexpected at a major event, Andreescu winning Indian Wells probably tops it. I mean biggest news story in sports. Someone wins the Super Bowl every year, no one gives a f*** about a minor tournament in women’s tennis, and neither compare to the greatest golfer ever winning his first major in over a decade.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Can we just end the Hanson thing? Maybe we could see if Elvis can do something with the bat? I have a theory as to why he's still up here
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Lol at all you hockey-loving Canadians hating on other sports! No one gives a s*** about that garbage so kiss my ass!

vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I honestly didn't realize that anyone still cares about Tiger Woods.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Golf's closest comparables would be darts and billiards. Maybe poker too.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Golf's closest comparables would be darts and billiards. Tiger winning the Masters is a bigger event than NHL playoffs guaranteed. I'm sure the Sunday ratings are way higher than any hockey playoff game so far. Replace hockey with golf in your statement and it would be more accurate.

I can name 2 ice hockey players, Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby. I wouldn’t recognise either if they walked up to me and said hi.

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Can you idiots shut the f*** up about golf

Okay, but hockey is a sport (not that I'm really a fan, frankly) while golf is, to borrow a phrase, "a good walk spoiled". It's like darts and pool w/r/t the amount of athleticism required, not the number of people who don't value their time enough to watch it...
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Drury swinging at a borderline 2-0 pitch with Morton struggling to find his command is inexcusable.

I wouldn’t recognise either if they walked up to me and said hi. Lol and you think anyone can name literally any golf player outside maybe Tiger Woods? What an asinine thing to say. And for the record, I really don't care about hockey either.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Golf's closest comparables would be darts and billiards. Tiger is much more famous than any baseball player. He’s a crossover star on the level of a Federer, Ronaldo or LeBron. That’s why it’s such a big story, even if you have no interest in watching golf.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I am loving what I'm seeing from Pannone this season. Not sure if he can keep his current velocity gains but those extra 2-3 mph from the left side are a difference maker.
