I guess it depends how you define biggest. I mean, the Superbowl happened obviously. If you mean unexpected at a major event, Andreescu winning Indian Wells probably tops it.

Is golf not that big in Canada? The Masters is HUGE here and when Tiger wins it it's even bigger. This is one of the biggest sports stories of the year easily.

I like watching a lot of sports. Golf just isn't one of them, it's by far the most boring sport I can think of, but again that's just my opinion, and I don't think it's comparable to baseball or soccer in the slightest. I also have a difficult time focusing on other sports when baseball is on, even with the NBA playoffs going on which I really enjoy I still find myself being more interested on the Jays who are bad.
