A woman got banned from the us...for having Cbd...the medical only part that doesn't even get u high...companies will refuse you weed but allow opioids .... alcohol is far worse than pot as well. Hell baseball players get suspended. It's not a performance enhancer. The world views on alcohol versus pot is idiocy.

Alcohol and Weed's on a tier, anything else is a tier above, anything above that is forgazy, or system down.

There's a difference between legal liability and personal responsibility.

Grant did not make any such distinction. Legally the doctor or whoever provided these drugs may have responsibility.

Many drugs are only available by prescription for a reason.

He took his meds, and drank... died... end of story.

We can be reasonably confident that the doctor (if it was a doctor) did not tell him to take multiple kinds of opioids and alcohol at the same time.

Nah, doctors improperly prescribe drugs all the time. Particularly to celebrities / professional athletes.

I see you changed your tune from 100%.

What?

You are 100% responsible for what you put in your own body. Everyone knows how dangerous opioids can be.

Also, I can just picture a doctor going. "Hey Tyler, take this oxycodone and just for kicks, top it off with some fentanyl and a 26er of rye."

Don't be ridiculous.

He's talking legal responsibility, you're talking personal responsibility. It was perfectly clear to me, at least, as to what you were referring to.

That's the internet for you. The same words can be interpreted in many ways.

No way these drugs were prescribed to him, they are banned by the MLB. Perhaps he was self medicating (dealing with pain) and got a staff member to score for him. Then got unlucky with an oxycodone batch laced with fentanyl.

Hopefully the investigation shows he wasn’t a long term addict. If he was then even if he wasn’t directly enabled by Angels staff it seems unlikely that no one would notice anything, and there could be a big scandal.

This seems optimal.

You are wrong. People with chemical dependencies are not necessarily acting rationally. When illegal actions by others contribute to the death of an addicted person, you cannot ascribe 100% responsibility to that person, either legal or personal.

This is a baseball thread and I wasn't going to respond, except for your last line above.

I can ascribe whatever personal responsibility I want to the person. This is an opinion, not a courtroom. Wealthy professional athletes have every option in the world to deal with pain. As sad as this situation is, we can't always place blame on others.

It may well be Skaggs' 100% responsibility. But no one should be saying that at this point, before the facts are known.

True, it’s possible that someone held him down and forced the stuff down his throat. We can’t rule out the possibility! We need ALL the facts to form a logical conclusion.

Yes, without engaging in hyperbole.

Relief pitcher and occasional pinch hitter Michael Lorenzen has a 117 wRC+ this season in 17 PA, which brings his career wRC+ to 104 in 109 PAs. He also has 3 steals on the season to go along with one CS. As a reliever, he's been worth 0.8 WAR featuring a high octane fastball which is averaging just over 97 mph. Pretty talented dude.

Get him to the AL to be a part time DH

Rangers have told Odor to either start using the daily information they give him or he is off the team. I think next year is the last they can freely send him down. He is owed like $30m over the next 3 years. I wonder if he is even tradeable

Marlins trade Sergio Romo to the Twins, how is that possible?

Because the trade happened like a month ago. Like the Sogard trade, there was a future considerations aspect involved and that was finalized today. (cash being sent)

Steven Brault threw 69 straight fastballs to start the day in Coors, in what you have to think is some sort of clubhouse joke, and then hit a 440 foot homer. He currently is leading 3-1.
