Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Yeah, but in Total Recall (original) lore, the Toronto Blue Jays lose to the Tokyo Samurais in the 2084 World Series. I'll trust Arnold over Avery Brooks, thank you very much! I'd be careful not to say anything bad about the emissary to the prophets.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Harper sure has a lot of disappointing seasons. Harper currently 46th in NL WAR this year. On pace for a 3-4 WAR season.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Why would a dick be spicy? It's Mexican
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Why would a dick be spicy? Hot sauce? Chlamydia?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Not sure if already posted. Carlos Correa out for possibly 2 months after suffering a fractured rib during a massage at his home. Must have been an unlicensed masseuse.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Who's the biggest mirage in baseball right now? Austin Riley 205 wRC+ .483 BABIP 33.9 K% 3.4 BB%
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Derek Dietrich: 170 wRC+, .197 BABIP He's snakebit
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 So the Astros are currently getting below replacement level production at first base, meanwhile Yordan Alvarez is making a mockery of AAA as a 21 year old and projects as their best bat at the position (by a lot). What's the hold up here?

What's the hold up here? At this point, probably the Super 2 deadline
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 That's because of homers, right? They're not included in BABIP. If his HR/FB% decreased, some balls would stay in the park and become doubles. Then his BABIP would be higher. correct

What's the hold up here? Much like us - they think Gurriel's are good at beisbol.

What's the hold up here? Because they are 37-20, a 7.5 game lead and recently won a World Series with some of these players. Occasionally there has to be a human element to think of. Plus it's not past Super 2 deadline.

keggy Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 At this point, probably the Super 2 deadline Willingly rolling the dice on a playoff spot in May to save a few million dollars in arbitration would be pretty reckless, even with a large lead in the standings. It's much more likely that they want to let their major league assets improve and/or give Alvarez more seasoning.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I think they have to clear a 40 man spot but don't want to give up on Kemp/White just yet. I wouldn't mind us snagging Kemp from them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) Another scoreless outing for Ryu. 7 and 2/3 innings this time 8-1, FIP 2.5, ERA 1.48 An insane 0.55 BB/9 He walks one batter about every 2-3 games. Smh Edited May 31, 2019 by G-Snarls
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 The Super 2 deadline is such a farce. I can't believe half the stuff the MLBPA approved in CBA negotiations over the years/decades.

Ray Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 The Rockies just optioned Kyle Freeland. He had a 7.31 ERA. He finished 4th in Cy Young last season. Has there been a guy in recent memory who placed Top 5 in Cy Young voting and then got optioned the following year?
