Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Mexico not representing very well in the past calendar year. When the Mexican League is sending their players they aren't sending their best.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Domingo Santana has a 132 wRC+ over 192 PAs. Fantastic right, a steal by the M's to acquire such a valuable player? Well, unfortunately he has -9 DRS and -8.7 UZR in LF, which makes him the worst defender in baseball by a mile and craters his value provided to only 0.2 WAR. Get this man out of the outfield FFS. My fantasy team in the LOD doesn't care about his -9 DRS and -8.7 UZR
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 My fantasy team in the LOD doesn't care about his -9 DRS and -8.7 UZR Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Org was referring to your fantasy baseball team
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 2 IP, 6K for Sale Reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 2 IP, 6K for Sale Reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated Yes. I figured it was unlikely he was injured judging by the fact Boston extended him. They are not dumb, they have his medical records. While an unpredictable injury could pop up, the extension told us he was healthy as the far as the best organization in baseball could tell.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Tommy La Stella is having an absurd season. 122 PA / 10 HR / 9.8 BB% / 6.6 K% / .212 BABIP / .311 ISO / .272/.364/.583 / 156 wRC+ The high HR rate/low BABIP combo isn't even explained by his batted ball profile, as his FB rate (37.9%) is basically equal to his GB rate (38.9%). You tend to see that more so in extreme FB guys - La Stella is not that at all.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 14K, 6 IP Sale @ about 90 pitches though
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 14K, 6 IP Sale @ about 90 pitches though 17 through 7 now, 108 pitches. I wonder if they'll give him a shot at breaking the record?

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 They should have left him in. There goes his hard work.

You tend to see that more so in extreme FB guys - La Stella is not that at all. I think I heard them say his 10 HRs this season match his total over the previous 5 years... The Angels sure have a ton of low K% guys...La Stella, Simmons + Fletcher are all <7%, K.Smith + Lucroy are just over 10%, Pujols, Trout + Cozart <15% (well Cozart is just over 15%) That's pretty insane in today's game.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Juan Soto just fell below replacement value His defense is awful. Any talk of him moving to 1st long term?

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Taijuan Walker will have an MRI after experiencing shoulder pain while rehabbing from TJS, not a good sign.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 So Morales is apparently a Yankee now, and just got his first hit with them.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Ughhh... Yeah it sucks, was hoping he'd be back mid season for my LoD team. Anyway his doesn't sound as horrendous as this latest update on Cole Ragans... Ragans (elbow) tore the graft from his Tommy John surgery and will undergo another surgery Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. Ragans was more than a year into his rehab after undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2018, so this is devastating news for the 2016 first-round pick. The 21-year-old now figures to be sidelined until midseason 2020, at least.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Is Maeda on a pitch count or something? That seems like a really random time to pull him, especially with him dominating.
