Slade Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Baseball as a business is going to suffer quite a bit if pitchers keep dropping like flies Yea cause this year is different than any other year.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Matt Kemp released. I know we need OF help but I think I probably pass on him. I'd rather his bat in the lineup instead of Brito or a player like Hanson.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 14-1 for the Red Sox over the White Sox, in the 4th inning
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Yea cause this year is different than any other year. It is, so far
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Wow, another classic Pillar catch for the highlight reel. I like how the ump needed to see the ball.

He has so many highlight reel catches you'd think he was Willie Mays. But the overall package just doesn't add up to more than a league average player at his peak and he's going to get worse. G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Wat??? No man, he was worth over 6 WAR in '15/'16. I had to look that up and yes. He's been 2 WAR rhe last 2 years. Before that much better. Clearly he projects poorly the next 5 years or they woukd have kept him. All that said I still miss him

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Mets and Brewers are enjoying playing so much they've decided to play two.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Mets and Brewers are enjoying playing so much they've decided to play two. Chris Flexen is in to close out the game for the Brewers now.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Chris Flexen is in to close out the game for the Brewers now. Yep. Flexen just coughed up the Mets' lead in the bottom of the 18th. Brewers win.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Yep. Flexen just coughed up the Mets' lead in the bottom of the 18th. Brewers win. Not an unexpected turn of events.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Not an unexpected turn of events. He's so awful.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Chris Flexen is in to close out the game for the Brewers now. Flexen was already in, why didn't they go to someone else, or was he the only one left, I didn't get that? Edit: I think he was the only one left, 8th pitcher used. Hurl got knocked out because of that monstrosity.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Tulo has suffered a setback and will be shut down for at least a week. I don't believe you!!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Yep. Flexen just coughed up the Mets' lead in the bottom of the 18th. Brewers win. On Ryan Braun's 6th hit of the night. Nice.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 It's great to see that EE is still going strong. Just hit a bomb for his 10th homer of the year.

In hindsight, the Edwin contract was fine and giving him 3/60 was absolutely the right move. Might be the biggest botch of the Shatkins tenure so far.

Also kind of frustrating because it seems like it all shook out that way because Shatkins was simply in a rush to get Morales signed too.

The debate is in trying to get ahead of the market in signing Morales.
