Good news, everyone! The Disabled List (DL) will now officially be called the Injured List (IL).

We wouldn't want to offend the actual disabled or something, I guess.

Lol seriously?

Watching pitchers hit f***ing sucks.

Pitchers combined had a -25 wRC+ last year. Nothing screams excitement like a free out every 9 spots in the batting order for the first few innings of the game.

I know this has been beaten to death but I bring it up because of all the support I see for "f*** the DH" on twitter. People are so dumn,

Political correctness wins again I see

He's talking about Sirius XM, highly doubt it.

I checked MLB Network, nothing there unless it's in a podcast, I tried.

Yeah I never understood the appeal of this. I could maybe understand it if there was no interleague play, which would make the World Series a bit more interesting with that dynamic thrown in (Jays pitchers hitting in 1992 and 1993 was mind boggling for me as a kid), but with the way the league is set up now it's stupid and outdated.

If Manfred is getting any heat for this change it is undeserved. This is one change that will help baseball.

The people who like the no DH in the NL appreciate that the manager’s lineup and pitcher changes are more meaningful and the perceived increased strategy. They think it’s worth the trade off of one less hitter in the lineup.

TBF I think quite a few of those fans are traditionalists and allow that to influence their opinions.

If I was commissioner I'd rename it the Gay Tranny List and force anyone on it to wear a sweater with a picture of that Ramos thing everyone hates. Therefore injured players would know that they're pussies if they go on the GTL and they should just play through the pain or take HGH like real men or hockey players would.

Manfred is such a cuck.

I like the idea of pitchers in the NL hitting, as a relic of the game or something that separates the two leagues. I don't really like watching it though. The "strategy" of the double switch in baseball is at a Grade 5 level of comprehension.

We have a new leader for the 2019 BJMB Troll of the Year folks. DP is going to be tough to beat again!

No, I just hate lots of people and sometimes the rage just needs to come out, like a volcano. Time to get in my car and take it out on other drivers now!

Yeah I agree, I think that's the most common argument in favor of the DH right now.

But watching the manager make some scratches on his lineup card a few times a game does not make up for the pain of watching pitchers fail to get bunt attempts down a few times a game.

Injuries starting already

Lindor calf sprain will miss all of spring training 7-9 weeks

Calf strain*

Will be interesting to see if this becomes a lingering issue a la Josh Donaldson. If I'm the Indians I give him 10 weeks minimum to get him back to 100% before his rehab assignment.

How do you know it's not actually a 4 week injury and they are already giving it an extra 3 to 5 weeks to be extra safe?

Lindor could miss 20 weeks and the Indians would still win the Central by double digits. They'll take their time because they can afford to.

Purists can go f*** themselves.

Watch how "pure" the NL managers would be if the DH was optional for a month but not mandatory. They'd have the DH in their lineup faster than tercet tucks his dick and runs when faced with logic and common sense.

Geez... so many FA's still unsigned with ST around the corner.

Meh. It's all guys looking for too much cash. It's really just Harper and Machado left, the rest will sign very quickly. Today was one of those days where a bunch of guys come off the board. What's left after the big boys? I'm not sure anyone beyond those two even gets 2 guaranteed years.

Edit: I'll add Keuchel to the multi-year list but won't be surprised if he signs a deal with an opt-out after year one.

Past Harper and Machado, there's still Keuchel, Kimbrel, Marwin Gonzalez, Gio Gonzalez, Adam Jones, Moustakas, Bud Norris, and Ervin Santana left.

Amazing that Twins' payroll is down to about 100M from 129M last year and the Indians are definitely worse. Indians are just like, "ya I guess we'll win this division if no one else wants to."

If the Jays and Indians swapped divisions, the Jays would be heading towards their 5th straight playoff appearance in 2019.
