More of a dumb comment for Grant to make considering an "opener" is not a regular role. It is only used in exceptional cases.

What year is it?

Are you sure this is a hill you want to die on?

It's not a regular role. That's a fact.

So... yes?

RIP TVA

There's no argument. Just stating a fact.

I will give you this - your Grant77 impersonation is perfect.

Fun fact: only 7 pitchers have started more games than Ryne Stanek since the start of 2018.

If this is satire it's brilliant.

It's still a fact. Give me an example of a pitcher whose regular role is as an "opener".

They already gave you one. Ryne Stanek. He has 27 "opens" this season alone.

Okay fair enough...the Rays are known for doing things differently. Any others or is that the only example?

I'm not expecting Font to stick. He's been cut by three smart FOs in the last two years, and his 2019 numbers on the aggregate are pretty bad. Pretty good 16-inning stretch though. Maybe Pete Walker has unlocked what TB, LAD, and OAK couldn't.... but that would be pretty shocking.

The funny thing is he's always been 'good' when he's pitched for TB - yet they kept releasing him...

Yanks have used Chad Green a few times as opener

Bichette could be our next Derek Jeter. Agree or disagree??

I thought Lawrie would be our George Brett and he was even more impressive than Bichette.

Pretty sad about how that turned out after 2011. I remember thinking he is going to be a 7 WAR player.

Is it safe to assume there will be a TJ Zeuch sighting very soon. I've seen enough of SRF to know he will never be a starter, its time to keep the chain moving.

He had a good start today in AAA which can only help him. Maybe they want to get him more innings? There's a vacant spot in the rotation that it's hard to see what they are waiting for.

He's garbage. Sorry

We just let's leave the mentals jerk-off about TJ Zoik

I think he could definitely he an all-star SS for many years. Not sure why you have to compare him to Jeter though. Bichette might end up being better.

Why?? He's shown good defense so far, especially range. He can hit for average, for power, and to all fields.

Just like Jeter

So Jeter is the only SS in MLB history to ever meet those criteria?

Did I say that?? Jeezus, you really are an anus

I was just curious why you picked Jeter? I mean there are lots of great SS's. Just let Bichette be Bichette. He may end up being way better than Jeter.

PS: hope you voted in the Anus poll!

I think we'd all be happy if he turned into a HOF shortstop like Jeter. Hoping that's he's better, while technically possible, is a bit greedy.
