Outfielder Jonathan Davis, red-hot at Triple-A recently, has a locker in #BlueJays clubhouse so it looks like he’s one of the additions to the roster.

As a Korn fan when I was in my teens, this makes me happy.

With the correct sequence of events, the last two years should have been the suckage years, and this year the first year of the ascent.

Unfortunately, Jays might get worse before they get better.

Vlad is hitting second and Brito is DFA. Today is a good day!

Barker is right (don't say that often). I'm pleasantly surprised he didn't justify this position by suggesting he'd have more protection...unsurprisingly, the comments on that video are pure AIDS - filled with people suggesting he be sent down or that he isn't hitting because naw protektion dawg.

Vlad at second, Grichuk in RF with a prospect at CF, an opener, and most importantly no f***ing Brito. This is more like what I thought the lineups this time of year would look like!

That lineup will do just fine.

We are tanking. We have an A ball pitcher getting MLB innings and traded Pillar for nothing.

Yup, the off-season was the writing on the wall.

Thank the f***ing lord. Davis should have been up weeks ago, f***ing Atkins has been asleep this season. No excuse for Brito to be on this Roster. Davis CF, Grichuck back to RF. Team is instantly better on D.

Uhmm... Davis only just came off the DL weeks ago, hot take buddy. Does this go along with questioning Ross' integrity?

I mean this in the sense that the way it's constructed with the players available is good enough. Not that I think we are going to score a bunch of runs tonight. lol

So, as things stand, Javy Guerra takes Thomas Pannone’s spot on the 25-man roster and the DFA’d Socrates Brito’s place on 40-man roster. Jonathan Davis takes the spot of Brito on the roster. And Pannone and will be recalled if/when Jays place Clay Buchholz on DL.

Buchholz has been put on the DL, I assume Pannone follows Hudson in this game.

Looks like nobody started a game thread yes, so why not start one and paste this info in there?

We know Mark Shapiro is better than this. He put a very good baseball ops department in place in Cleveland, and we've seen the results play out over the last few years, over which they've had a good team on a low budget. Moreover, we've heard Shapiro speak intelligently about baseball every time he gets in front of a camera. And he's done his job as President well here, as far as we can tell.

We've been assuming that Ross Atkins is a smart, capable man because he was hired by a guy we know to be a smart, capable man. We're probably right. But there's at least a possibility that Ross Atkins isn't as smart or capable as we think he is. Because he's never actually displayed it - we've just been assuming that Shapiro wouldn't hire an idiot. At some point in the near-future the GM is going to have to display an ability to put 25 talented players on the field and earn the solid reputation that he currently has with us because of his association with Mark Shapiro.

I don't think you can divorce the performance of the Atkins and Shapiro like that. Hiring a GM is the single most important task for the president and reflects his values and philosophy.

Also, with respect to the Indians who have been a good team with budget constraints, if the Rays front office existed in the AL Central, Cleveland might make the playoffs once in five years. This doesn't bode well for the Jays, who are actually competing against the Rays, along with the Boston and NY financial juggernauts.

I only tend to start GDT’s when I know I’ll be watching the full game. Call me a casual, but I wasn’t going to stay up until 3am to watch us play the White Sox, haha.

Things I thought I would never say...

Jon Berti is out hitting 9 current/ex Toronto Blue Jays position players from this year.. will it keep up? bahahahahah

Shatkins is essentially burlingtonbandit, who thinks that exit velocity is the offensive stat that matters for hitters

I noticed 24 year old Harold Ramirez was called up by the Fish after starting .355 .999 OPS in AAA.

Lets see if we can add to Dwight Smith Jr the amount OF talent we gave away playing better than any of our own outfielders.

We didn't give away Harold Ramirez. He took less money than we offered to sign for the Marlins as he thought he'd have a better chance of cracking their roster. He was right.

How does minor league free agency work?? I assume if we added him to the 40 man we could of kept him. Once you get added to the 40 man don't you then start using options?? So we technically could of kept him for 3 more years (without even playing him in Toronto), just by keeping him on the 40 man and using options.

So didn't the decision come down to the fact they'd rather use the 40 man spot for other (arguably less valuable) players?

FFS, We didn't give away DSJ either. It's like we never signed anyone of value with our international FA money before or something...
