Has Shatkins ever given up on a player they traded(oliver drake doesnt count) for or signed yet? Man they are super loyal to so many crappy players that don't deserve 40man spots.

Do we know if Paulino was sent down to start? If he was, then I approve. If he wasn't, and they are putting him in the pen, then he should be in the bigs right now.

If Paulino wasn't sent down to start then it was almost surely an attitude issue that did him in. That's pure speculation on my part of course, but it isn't baseless.

Pannone, he doesn't deserve a 40man spot, let alone a 25man spot.

#tanknation

I don’t think he’s good, but I’m also not really surprised they kept him. I don’t think he sticks around once his options run out.

Luciano is going to stay on the team for whatever amount of days he needs to (90?) and then will be IL'ed for the rest of the year. Montoyo will have to be careful when he uses him because we will probably see a bunch of 1 IP/5+ ER outings from him, and 5 runs might be kind.

Give someone else a chance, pitchers that top out at 90mph need to be pinpoint with command/control and pannone isnt that.

His outing vs the Yankees last weekend is prime example.

I would've preferred Jason Adam here.

They've still only announced 24 men for the roster, so last spot probably goes to Adam or Norris.

Interesting. For some reason I didn't even consider Guerra as a candidate, given that he's 33, seems to suck, and isn't on the 40-man.

10-WAR-equivalent intanjuhbulz swing right here.

Everything is right again in the world.

So when Toronto add Merryweather, Pompey and possibly Phelps to the 60 day IL, they should have plenty of flexibility to the roster. Right now, they can put the latter 2 guys on the 10 day and move them to the 60 if need be. They'll also be putting Borucki and Buchholz on the 10 day, and seems as though Norris as well... Wow!

Looks like we know who the first person getting DFA'd this year is.

So... With the Jays collecting IFA bonus money from a couple of different teams... And the assumption seems to be that it's for the current signing season... Who is still kicking around of interest that might tickle the Jays fancy?

I believe they're after Sanchez.

I believe they're after Sanchez.

Known for his elite defense, Sanchez's polished glove might be ready for the big leagues now. According to scouts, he can spray the ball from "line to line" and is considered a line-drive hitter. He ultimately projects to hit eight to 10 homers in the big leagues. He is also known for his average to slightly above average arm as well as an average to slightly above average running ability. Scouts also like his game instincts and track record.

Sanchez was the starting shortstop for the Havana Industriales and projected to be the starting shortstop for the island's national team before his defection last summer. He was the starting shortstop for Cuba's 23U team in Panama and was a teammate of White Sox prospect Luis Robert on the country's 18U team.

Because of his age and experience, Sanchez will sign under the international signing guidelines. The Orioles, who came up short in their pursuit of Cuban outfielders Victor Victor Mesa and Victor Mesa Jr. and Cuban pitcher Sandy Gaston, still have close to $6 million in bonus pool money and were among the first teams to scout Sanchez in person. Should the Orioles decide to trade away their bonus money, the Twins, Brewers, Pirates, D-backs, Rockies, Indians, Royals, Tigers, Mariners, Blue Jays and Giants could be possible partners and thus be in a position to make a substantial offer.

The Dodgers, Phillies, Rangers, Cubs and Red Sox have money to spend during the current signing period. The Astros, Mets, Cardinals and White Sox could be among the teams in play for Sanchez if he decides to wait until the next signing period that starts July 2.

Sanchez is represented by Ulises Cabrera of Octagon and trains with Edwin Castillo in the Dominican Republic.

I don't think we've got nearly enough for Sanchez, sadly. Best name out there, but other teams have more IFA cash to play with.

So either a pending trade or an injury announcement forthcoming

could be going with a 7 man bullpen, maybe a reliever stubbed his toe(Norris?). I would be really happy for Tellez if he was on the roster. I think he deserves a shot to sink or swim.
