Lol @ Donaldson liking this tweet.

I also just saw the home run. It was an opposite field 315 foot fly ball straight down the line that barely cleared the fence.

Bwahahaha...

How exactly did Tulo s*** all over Toronto publicly?

Implying that they gave up on him, when they did him a huge favour and released him early so he could catch on somewhere else. They didn't have to do that, wouldn't have hurt them at all to keep him on the roster until opening day, and cut him then if they didn't want to keep him around.

I said 2 months ago that Tulo was putting up a 5+ win season and that was going in the bold predictions thread. I said feel free to laugh then and feel free to laugh now. I think Tulo puts up a 3+ win season this year.

Crazy you had to ask that, after the fact?

I've said months ago it might be possible, he's talented. To blame the FO is short-sided, they gave him the break. He wasn't helping Toronto, it isn't hard.

They did give up on him. Atkins came right out and said that it was unlikely that Troy would be an average or above average short stop again. He said, I'm sure if you asked Troy he'd agree. When he actually said that I laughed out loud. Troy Tulowitzki is the most competitive guy out there. Troy absolutely believes he's an above average short stop.

They did him a favour by releasing him. There is no doubt about this. They screwed the fans over by doing that. Troy saying the Jays gave up on me is like saying the sky is blue. Everyone in the world knows the Jays gave up on him. They gave him 38 million not to play. What other conclusion could one come to?

That's ridiculous. The front office should do everything they can to build a winner for the fans. I don't really want a GM releasing a guy so a contender can sign him on the cheap for him to have a chance to win. Maybe shatkins can trade Vladdy in 5 years to a team that's a top contender and one he wants to go to rather than the team that offers the best package. That would be really nice for Vladdy to go to his preferred team after having endured the crap years with the Jays.

Because that's definitely a reasonable comparison

Seriously complaining about Tulo cause he hit a 315 foot Spring Training home run?

The guy hasn't played for us for a year and a half and when he did he wasn't even good.

Lol you can think whatever you want, I guess, but this is like me getting mad because I've never gotten to bang a supermodel.

Reminder that Troy Tulowitzki is 34 years old and has played in 66 games at replacement level over the last two years combined. He is not good. He is old and broken.

Yeah but he hit a wall scraper against a pitcher's first batter in ST so he's back to 2011 Tulo.

Lol Jays do him a favor by releasing him when they did and he spits in their face.

When I saw the "No doubt about it. Extra special" part I thought this was going to be a joking/sarcastic response. LOL @ Tulowitzki for being a salty bitch.

damn.. finally have a day off and was excited to follow the game today. Excited for the season to begin and watching the young guns. With low expectations this season I expect more over blown drama like this Tulo home run. Wish him well but his big years are long gone.

lol I just watched the video of this home run

Tulowitzki screaming "let's goooO!!!" four times after a 300 ft spring training dinger is just too hilarious.

He also looks way too thin to last more than a month or two. Maybe it's a slimming effect of the pinstripes.

If Tulo can make it through Spring Training healthy enough to play, I can't wait until Stroman faces him in the regular season. When he strikes him out he's going to go nuts lol.

LOL @ you guys for thinking this Tulo story is going to end in any way other than John Farrell.

Tulo is going to get cancer and become a scout?

Posted
Seems like the scouting reports love McGuire's defense and arm. If he's a good framer he could be an excellent backup/fringe starter. His bat leaves a lot to be desired but he at least hits left handed so it should be relatively easy to make sure he usually has the split advantage.

What would a Grichuk extension look like?

$7-8M AAV for over 2-3 years?

Aaron Hicks is getting $10M per season (which we all agree isn't much) and has been a far better player than Grichuk so far.
