Blue Jays are among teams in on Sergio Romo as he moves close to a deal

Was it Sergio Romo who was Devil eyes in the Canada vs. Mexico fight?

If i remember correctly he really didn't do anything. He just stood around with his hood up looking evil and s*** with that beard.

That is a fantastic jersey. Definitely want it (and they should use it as an alternate going forward...)

Yes, that is what I meant by Devil eyes.. He looked like some possessed demon or something. Thanks ;)

PECOTA came out. Toronto is at 75 wins, which is I think the same as Steamer.

Hates: Sanchez, Borucki, McKinney, Jansen (mostly his defense).

Likes: Vlad, Gurriel, Shoemaker, Paulino, SRF, Thornton

I'm not feeling 75 wins. Seems a little high but we'll see.

Definitely a 4th place team sadly

Maybe it's the optimist in me, but I'll say we end up with 80 wins. We were already a Top 10 hitting team by wRC+ last season, and Vlad and Jansen are going to only improve that. Hard to see the pitching being as bad as it was last season too.

Baserunning and defense will still be s*** though.

I think we could see a massive range of realistic outcomes next year. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see a win total in the low 60s, nor would I be surprised to see something in the mid 80s. Stro and Sanchez are probably the keys.

This season is going to be a dumpster fire. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of our Specs start to break through though.

Will be decent to just relax enjoy the season as it comes not be worried about playoffs and just enjoying young talent. Much prefer watching a team breakthrough with prospects and youth than a broken team failing miserably after some expectations as per last year

Yeah that's probably not going to end well, but versatility can't hurt.

TBH I’d rather Gurriel get those LF at bats and Travis is sent to the minors to act as depth. I’m not sure that Travis’ knees will ever allow him to be a full time contributor again.

Travis knees were looking pretty bad in the first half last year, but got progressively better as the season ended.

Still the question is whether he can remain healthy, that's unlikely, but overdue.

If he does remain healthy, that would be great for the team, even if he becomes trade bait.

He had meniscus surgery. Essentially, that's they cut away the damaged meniscus, chunks and flaps of which were getting into his joint and probably locking up. He will more than likely suffer from bone spurs soon, if not already, because of this trauma. He may be getting shots of Synvisc, or something more advanced, to provide temporary relief (a temporary meniscus essentially), but the damage in done. it is permanent and not going away. IMO.

Travis’s D is bad. Range, turning double plays, throw, coming in on balls, footwork. He will cost our pitchers runs.

His bat needs to be first and second year good to slot him in the lineup, especially playing a middle IF position.

If he went to OF, I think the turf would kill his body and I think he is too short and slow.

Basically, he has the potential of one thing contributung to the team, and like five negatives.. The Risk vs Reward calculation in my GM mind says plan without him in the mix or starting lineup/be ready to cut bait, or if he gets off to a hot start, trade him or package him.

Of course, maybe this is why I am not a GM.

However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn.

Yeah seriously I’m supporting Stroman now. Sure his whining on social media when Ryan Goins was let go was annoying but other than that he’s a good pitcher who wants the ball in big games, loves Toronto, and is trying to build a business on the side (and last time I checked that involves promoting the brand on social media and engaging with his followers). Don’t know why that angers so many people. No wonder baseball is so boring to the mainstream. It wants to stifle the personality off everyone. He’s not a Machado like douche like he’s portrayed here.

So he's a tool for promoting his own music? Jesus Christ.

Worth noting too Stroman didn't even make the video, it was Pitching Ninja/Rob Friedman. Stroman just retweeted it, what an *******..

I'm on Team Stroman. Wants to be here and wants the ball. Gives max effort every time he puts the jersey on. Good enough for me. Don't care what you do outside the lines.

Just stop throwing a sinker, thanks.

Damn skippy.

Too many things about Stroman make me think Ricky Romero. I would not extend. I would trade if he ups his value in 2019.
