Good job TEAM... A win is a WIN.. Even if I am scared that it was all HRs, which is just not sustainable... Don't get me wrong, very happy and good pitching from #5... Will take that all year long...!

ok, just pretend that they were all doubles and throw in a few bunts and SEETCHYEWAYSHUNUL HEETING and MANYEWFAKCHURING RAWNS and I dunno. More bunts I guess if needed. I've been told many times that bunts lead to runs.

The baseball experts on this forum say that him and Morales are a wash in terms of WAR value, but I'd argue his dance moves and clubhouse energeee is worth at least 0.3 fWAR over Morales

To be fair the Martin homer with two outs after Grandy reached with 2 outs was pretty SEETCHYEWAYSHUNAL to me, he may be on to something

Getting on base = offence. Multi-run, go-ahead home runs don't come out of the blue. If Martin's HR was turned into a double by the Green Monster would you have the same attitude toward the team's approach?

Different night. Different hero. This I believe is how it will be all year long. Jays team is deep in all areas, SP, BP, lineup.

When you get a complete team of slightly above average players, different hero every night.

It would have been even more situational if Martin had bunted instead of hitting the homer. Then we could say that we can score runs without hitting homers.

they had incredible unlucky BABIP tonight. Many line drives hit right at people. Regardless, I wouldn't feel too bad about hitting home runs

Agreed, through 5 games I can't recall a Jays season that opened with more consistently exciting baseball, even if it isn't the best team we've had. It genuinely feels like we are chasing a playoff spot in September, there's so much energy and charisma on the team.

 

Oh, and Donaldson mocking whistle guy was f***ing fantastic.

Man people are actually complaining that the team is hitting home runs? Lol. The majority of the team has BA's in the .100's or less. They'll get hits eventually, but in the mean time they are winning with the long ball and good pitching. Not sure what the issue is.

I am saying that we need to be able to score runs without a HR... Over the course of 162 games, scoring runs with HRs only is not sustainable.. That was our problem in 2016... Especially in the playoffs etc... I hate Shapiro talk... But one word is important for offense.. "sustainable".. The Champion teams can score with the HR or manufacture runs..Look at Houston and the Royals.. Not taking anything away from the last three games.. Would just like to see we have the ability to put up 5 runs even if we don't hit the HR or manufacture a run in a close game.. Especially based on our record of one run games the past number of years.

way too early for such analysis.... next week the complaint may be not enough HR
