I know someone working on the project and they project a 32k stadium (which it really needs to be about 35-38k), a 500m stadium (lol, it will cost upwards of 800m min) and a 75m payroll (0 chance they will compete with that). It's a recipe for a disaster. We've gone through this before, you put a cheap product on the field and the fans won't show up, and that will happen with their projections. Add in the fact it's a conglomerate ownership group and you know things will be cheaply done and run. The team would have a 2-3 year window of excitement being a new team then quickly fade.

The demographics in Montreal are worse for baseball then they were when they had a team. Montreal was on a list a number of years ago of cities actually losing population, same list places like Detroit were on.

The french speaking immigrants they are targeting to settle in Quebec do not come from baseball rich (doesnt even exist) countries.

How many iterations of the CFL team have they had?

The major corporations that would buy luxury boxes etc all left and went to Toronto. I think Vancouver or Calgary woukd actually to better then Montreal, and that is not saying much.

Let them keep their s***** hockey team, which is all they care about. 😎

You are saying I did not? Where in the article is anything that negates my assertions that I made... ?

Your post seems to imply that Montreal would be a bad city to have a baseball team.

The Montreal TV market ranks in the top half of all MLB TV markets: For the total size of the TV market, Montreal would rank 12th out of 27 markets.

Montreal is the strongest market among potential expansion or relocation candidates: with regard to other expansion team or relocation candidate cities, Montreal ranks 1st in population, 1st in size of television market, 1st in size of corporate base and 2nd in median household income.

Montreal ranks 15th out of 27 MLB markets for metropolitan population size, 18th out of 27 with regards to median household income and 19th out of 27 in terms of corporations with annual sales of at least $5M and at least 25 employees.

Those numbers only equate to people or size etc. Montreal is probably larger then Boston. Does that mean it would have a bigger fan base, corporate support or TV contract? Not even in the same universe.

(the group has decided not to release the full report from CSL)

That is the key my friend... No minor league club, a bunch of puck heads and soccer fans, no acceptable stadium, a Francophone population who wont support public financing of a stadium. The TV market is skewed because you cannot take that number as a whole. When you are talking add revenue you have French populations, English, (splitting the whole) English Radio, French radio... They couldn't even get corporate support in Montreal for a hockey tournament... They had a hard time apart from a few years with the Team even prior to the English and corporate evacuation of Montreal/Quebec..

If she works in a strip club, she pokes.

Not for free, or even a nice dinner...

Question for you Canoe heads in general.. How the hell do you tip pole dancers at a strip club in Canada with Loonies and Toonies.. I am sure they don't rest in g-strings or thongs like regular paper money..?

It doesnt really work like that in my area of Ontario. Strippers make their money giving "dances" in the back rooms.

^This. I was dumbfounded when we went to Washington this past summer and the guys stand 'near' the stage and throw $1 bills at the girls....who then have to get on their hands and knees to collect them (although one place had a big broom to sweep them up - then the girls picked them up in the corner). Then the girls come around and hound you for tips.

Stripping is degrading enough - making them kneel and collect a ton of $1 bills is just cruel. Plus you look like a massive douchebag if you stand by the stage and spray $1 bills all over the girls like you're in a rap video.

Our system is way better here.

The strip clubs in Montreal are nice.

I was blown away by the # of rub n tugs. There's one on every corner and they advertise/promote it. Here in Ontario - those places have to pretend to be legit massage parlors so they can milk guys after dark.

And they're basically whorehouses, same as Ontario. On the road with a work team, they did it all the time. I never participated save for the Falls a few years back, these girls came to the Hotel at a flat rate and just loved it(drinking/snorting), I decided to train in.

Strip Clubs are dying, the extra curricular s*** isn't. PC women think they're winning, but they're not, just making it more unsafe for these women.

On that note I had an enlightening conversation with a writer friend who is doing some investigative work on the human trafficking issue in Montreal related to the strip clubs and sex work. Between that and the Vancouver real estate bubble created by the Chinese mobsters using it as a vehicle to launder their money, Canada really is showing itself to be a bastion for corrupt politicians on multiple levels of government.

MLB in Montreal again would be cool and realistic. Every city that has ever lost a baseball team since 1900 - except Brooklyn which doesn't really count - eventually got one back. It's bound to happen.

but because the French don't give a s*** about baseball it makes it the worst market ever. They f***ed up last time by removing English Radio and trying to force feed it as a French team and they lost out on the rest of Canada as fans. That won't happen this time at least as SN or TSN will be around to not let it that happen. It still will end up with bad ratings for both after a few years if they bring them back.

I used to hate that on CBC 6/12, etc... lol.

So dumn, they lost out on a massive market.

I don’t doubt what you are saying is true. Though I have never seen it.

The typical modus operandi in US strip clubs is the girls circulate, but each on has to go on stage when it is their turn. The idea is, all the girls will dance at some point. While they are dancing is when you put a dollar or $5 etc in their garter ( elastic thing on their leg) if full nude, and if not, in their g-string.

Once the girl is finished, if you like her, then you ask he to give a private dance, or backroom, VIP section or whatever the club has. Generally it is $5 at skank places to $20 dollars per song. Anything after that or during would depend on location, the girl and is guaranteed fo be more then $20 plus tip.

Now, admittedly my post is dated since I have not been in a US strip club in years. But back in da day😎

I realized when I called one poster a “Baller”, for giving $5 per girl on stage he was talking about $5 CDN or like $2.60 USD, so he is only half a baller. 😜

What the hell is Tooney bar?

OKC needs a team (by far the biggest financial industry presence without a team), I like Charlotte but they just built their stadium and I don't think you could add enough seats to retro-fit it. If we are talking about expansion it would need to be 2 teams and I'd probably go Portland.
