I refuse to acknowledge any player who plays for Cleveland as an MVP candidate with the trainwreck Central that they get to unfairly mash on more than everyone else.

 

Betts is the MVP this year. No question.

Well Betts gets to face the Orioles 18 times this season as well as the Blue Jays' trainwreck of a pitching staff.

Imagine facing three versions of the O’s and one version of the Jays. That’s what Cleveland faces more than anyone else.

 

Trout is always the MVP if you look at the best player but Betts has been more than worthy this year.

JD Martinez has been other worldly, too. Without looking I would say Betts has a better WAR, but man, that Martinez signing couldn't have gone better for the Red Sox. f***.

Betts is a deserving candidate this season, he's putting up godly numbers along with Trout and Jose Ramirez.

 

I'd probably vote for Ramirez right now if I had a say in it.

 

NL MVP race is also interesting - there isn’t one outstanding candidate. Perhaps Scherzer if he wins a 3rd Cy Young in a row (not a given) would win the MVP too.

DeGrom fully deserves the Cy Young, I really hope he doesn't lose it because of f***ing pitcher W-L record.

Touki Toussaint is making his ML debut today. Remember when Dave f***ing Stewart traded him just to clear Arroyo's $9.5M contract? What an idiot.

 

And his rationale was that Toussaint's signing bonus was $2.7M, therefore, Toussaint as an asset was worth $2.7M. It was egregious GM malpractice, showed a profound misunderstanding of how to evaluate assets, and was one of the nails in Stewart's coffin.

Dave Stewart accused the Jays of being racist when they chose Ricciardi over him. Think about it, without JP, the Jays may have went with Stew. That would have been fun.

Stewart was ahead of the curve. He was calling racism way before it was cool to do so. Dude is a trailblazer.

Acuna lead off both games of today's doubleheader with a homerun. Kid is insane.

 

137 wRC+ as a 20 year old and he still probably won't be RoY, the amount of young elite hitting talent coming up to the majors nowadays is insane.
